~SIMPLY YUMMEEE TREATS~
Early this morning my Miss K and I baked up a big ol' bunch of yummeeee White Chocolate and Almond Cookies for a friend of mine recently diagnosed with breast cancer. We had such a wonderful
time mixing and baking and
I snapped away like a goofeee
PROUD Nana!
Well...I accidentally deleted ALL the pictures while tranferring them from my camera to my computer. Wahhhh... I'm just SICK! :( Tomorrow we will bake more JUST so I can retake new pictures!
Anyway...here is a little glimpse of the cookies we packaged up for Miss Becky! We started off with this:
~A SIMPLE PAINTED PINK BOX~
~ADDED A VINTAGE PAPER DOILY TO THE TOP~
This sweet garage sale find was for a package of 80 count 8" paper doilies and they cost me ten cents! The bonus was they were already gently aged...no "paper-baking" needed!
~PLACED CELLO WRAPPED COOKIES INSIDE~
~TOP DECORATED w/ FLOWERS FROM MICHAELS~
(These were a great and inexpensive find!!!!)
~A HEART LOCKET and RAYON RIBBON~
Simple and sweet and not a lot of money!!!
~MY MISS K~
(Shame on you, Nana! Be MORE CAREFUL!)
The cookie recipe is easy! I used the one on the back of Nestle's Premier White Morsals (Chips) and substituted almond extract for the vanilla and added 1/2 cup of sliced almonds to the mix. Easy Peasy!
Here's a fabulous tip for you!
Want your cookies to be super fabulous without totally flattening out while baking? The recipe I used called for all butter~ If you use half butter and half shortening in your cookie recipe they will be absolutely 2die4 (no pun intended!). Try it...you'll see!
I'm off to sulk some more. Ugh!
Love to you...
What a sweet gift for your friend. I am sure she is going to love it! I may have to try this recipe...although, I would have to give them away as we are not eating that stuff...I want to, but I can't!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of you and Miss K to bake these cookies for your friend. They look yummy and the box is gorgeous! I love the paper doilies and what a steal!! The roses are beautiful.

ReplyDeleteMiss K is adorable and those cookies look great. Sorry about your oops...
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing with the shortening/butter mix. I use the butter flavored Criso.
ReplyDeleteI hate when you lose pictures. Your little MissK is just a doll..don't you love that age?
Your presentation box is beautiful, Rebecca...but I wouldn't expect it to be any other way! xo Diana
Well, I LOVED the pictures! Miss K is too precious and I bet the best helper ever! Have a blessed day dear Rebecca, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteThey look delish Rebecca... and just like you, always thinking of others... I know that will brighten her day... Miss K looks adorable as always... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteThe cookies will be such a sweet treat, and your thoughtfulness such a blessing.
ReplyDeleteOur digital cameras and computers are such wonders when they and us work together! Unfortunately, I am not as smart as they are and feel really dumb a lot, too!
I also have to tell you how much I love listening to Pass It On. Reminds me of summers long ago, sitting around the campfire at church camp. Photographs etched on the heart that can never be deleted!
What memories you made with Miss K and a gift for a friend to boot.....The box of cookies is beautiful......
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful weekend.....

Rebecca, Such a sweet gift of your special cookies for your friend, and the wrappings are just beautiful as always. Miss "K" is just precious!
ReplyDeleteLove & Blessings to You!
I am sure you and Miss K made memories together even without the photos!! What a charming presentation you did to put the cookies in for your friend. I am sure she will be touched by it...
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear of her illness, though....
Yesterday must have had "bad vives" in the air...I put a tupperware microwave rice cooker in to make rice for dinner, accidently turned it on for too long and totally burned up container, rice and all!!!!! :0(
it is a wonder I did not burn up the kitchen........my house does not smell like cookies now, it smells like burnt chemicals EEEEGH!
P.S. Berch saved the day...he stopped and bought rice in a pouch to cook for dinner....LOL
Hugs, Francy
As my Grandma used to say Miss K is a cute as a bugs ear... WTHeck does that mean. Ever see a bugs ear??? It must have been good because my Grandma was kind & gentle & when she said it she always smiled ! !
ReplyDeleteHave a Happy 4th!!
Marilyn
Hi Ms. Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteWhat a yummy, beautiful and thoughtful gift. I know your friend will absolutely love it...I will say a little prayer for her too. Have fun baking some more :-)
Hugs and Kisses,
♥Ana
Oh my...Such a pretty (and yummy) gift. You are a blessing to your friend, Rebecca.
ReplyDeleteI always made flat chocolate chip cookies, too...until I started adding instant pudding mix to the dough. Butterscotch is especially delish...a six-serving box added to the recipe makes nice big fat cookies!
Tell Miss K that I LOVE her nail polish!
Kathy
