~~WHITE CHOCOLATE and ALMOND COOKIES~~ And Boy Am I Stupid!

~SIMPLY YUMMEEE TREATS~

Early this morning my Miss K and I baked up a big ol' bunch of yummeeee White Chocolate and Almond Cookies for a friend of mine recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  We had such a wonderful
time mixing and baking and
I snapped away like a goofeee
PROUD Nana!

Well...I accidentally deleted ALL the pictures while tranferring them from my camera to my computer.  Wahhhh...  I'm just SICK! :(  Tomorrow we will bake more JUST so I can retake new pictures!

Anyway...here is a little glimpse of the cookies we packaged up for Miss Becky!  We started off with this:
  ~A SIMPLE PAINTED PINK BOX~
~ADDED A VINTAGE PAPER DOILY TO THE TOP~

This sweet garage sale find was for a package of 80 count 8" paper doilies and they cost me ten cents!  The bonus was they were already gently aged...no "paper-baking" needed!
~PLACED CELLO WRAPPED COOKIES INSIDE~
 ~TOP DECORATED w/ FLOWERS FROM MICHAELS~
(These were a great and inexpensive find!!!!)
~A HEART LOCKET and RAYON RIBBON~

Simple and sweet and not a lot of money!!!
 ~MY MISS K~

(Shame on you, Nana!  Be MORE CAREFUL!)

The cookie recipe is easy!  I used the one on the back of Nestle's Premier White Morsals (Chips) and substituted almond extract for the vanilla and added 1/2 cup of sliced almonds to the mix.  Easy Peasy!

Here's a fabulous tip for you!

Want your cookies to be super fabulous without totally flattening out while baking?  The recipe I used called for all butter~  If you use half butter and half shortening in your cookie recipe they will be absolutely 2die4 (no pun intended!).  Try it...you'll see!

I'm off to sulk some more.  Ugh!

Love to you...

  8. The cookies will be such a sweet treat, and your thoughtfulness such a blessing.
Our digital cameras and computers are such wonders when they and us work together! Unfortunately, I am not as smart as they are and feel really dumb a lot, too!
I also have to tell you how much I love listening to Pass It On. Reminds me of summers long ago, sitting around the campfire at church camp. Photographs etched on the heart that can never be deleted!

  13. I am sure you and Miss K made memories together even without the photos!! What a charming presentation you did to put the cookies in for your friend. I am sure she will be touched by it...
I am so sorry to hear of her illness, though....
Yesterday must have had "bad vives" in the air...I put a tupperware microwave rice cooker in to make rice for dinner, accidently turned it on for too long and totally burned up container, rice and all!!!!! :0(
it is a wonder I did not burn up the kitchen........my house does not smell like cookies now, it smells like burnt chemicals EEEEGH!
P.S. Berch saved the day...he stopped and bought rice in a pouch to cook for dinner....LOL
    Hugs, Francy

  16. Oh my...Such a pretty (and yummy) gift. You are a blessing to your friend, Rebecca.

I always made flat chocolate chip cookies, too...until I started adding instant pudding mix to the dough. Butterscotch is especially delish...a six-serving box added to the recipe makes nice big fat cookies!

Tell Miss K that I LOVE her nail polish!
