~MORE RE-FURBISHED VINTAGE LACE LAMPSHADES~

I'm in the process of transforming a few more gently used lamps this week!  Both of these little beauties were found at local tag sales and have been waiting patiently for complete makeovers.  If you missed my post last week on how ugly old lampshades were refashioned using vintage and older laces you can go HERE and read all about it!
I love to recycle junk-store lamps!  I see them all the time and I have to hold myself back from buying more than I need...don't want my Mr. AGPMan to ever think I'm a HOARDER or something...
I think my favorite part of making the shades is being able to use up all those itty-bitty pieces of vintage lace I've been hanging onto for sooooo long now
Because they are fashioned in patchwork-style there isn't a pattern or a set way of covering the shades!
Fun to create, but as I shared last week very time-consuming!
Love adding those tattered roses that are sooo popular right now!

I'm working on special pillow orders inside my studio this week so I'll be in and out for the next few days.  Stormy weather is supposed to hit Oklahoma today (like the tornado kind) so I'm hunkering down and praying our roof doesn't fly out into the universe or something...

    Wow Rebecca!Most beautiful lamp shades I've ever seen .I've been wanting to revamp My Mom's old shade I've had for years but it's an extremely pleated shade. I love all your work.Denise

    I hope you are not over-working your hands while you create these pieces of art! I have nightmares about tornadoes, so I hope they stay far from civilization down your way. Here I'm waiting for a blizzard, AGAIN. I may never get out side until June! I asked my daughter if somehow I had moved back to Granby where I started my teaching career (4 years in the mountains). But no, am still out here on the plains. Staying home today with a cold! Keep safe and sound!♥♫

    Your lamp shades are so amazing!
    I LOVE them! I have two vintage lamps that hung on the headboard of two twin beds in my granparents home. I have not been sure just how to refurbish them, and this helps me think of ideas. They still work even! and have a little gold ball chain that you pull on to turn the lamp on. there is a large clip that attaches them to a headboard. I will be thinking more about those now!

    Oh honey these are just lovely. I have been wanting to do this with some of my old lamps but I never take the time to do things I want to do. I keep saying someday.

    I have several lamps waiting for paint first, a good rub second then lamp shades. I'm so copying you on this one. I want at least 2 or 3 of these if only for my craft room. Such a brilliant use for lace bits, odd buttons, trims and ribbon. I can't wait to get started. Maybe while the paint dries... eh? There now my time is well planned. Thank you. Hugs. Tammy

    Rebecca, Your lampshades are awesome! I cannot wait to try one of my own. I've got several old lamps that I've picked up from thrift stores. Stevie calls me a hoarder. :) I laughed when you said something about hoarding. :)
