~MY GREATEST LOVE~

No pinks today.

No fun decorative finds.

No makeover tutorials.

Today I have only the words to a song that have ministered to me for almost twenty years.  It is impossible for me to sing them aloud or listen to their melody without them stirring up deep within my soul a profound gratefulness for God's greatest mercies in my life.

Of all the things I love to do...

More than the
junkin', slummin', shopping,
painting, sewing, creating,
singing, writing, laughing, talking or sharing...

There is nothing that brings more joy into my life or returns my heart to a deeper place of peace and rest than worshiping Jesus Christ, the King of Kings.  He changed my life.

 AS THE DEER
(Marty Nystrom)

As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after thee
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship thee

You alone are my strength my shield

To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship thee

You're my friend and You are my brother,

Even though you are a King.
I love you more than any other,
So much more than anything.

You alone are my strength my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship thee

I want You more than gold or silver,
Only You can satisfy.
You alone are the real joy Giver,
And the apple of my eye.

You alone are my strength my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my hearts desire
And I long to worship thee

(As The Deer is the first song on my playlist!)

Blessings to you today!  May you always know how very much God loves you.

Blessings and love to you this day...

  17. We share this passion my friend! Nothing else matters in all of the world with out a relationship with our precious Savior! With Him everything else is made more lovely and even fun!

I love this song! We have a family that sings this at our church every so often and it just stirs the soul! My son's school used that verse in the bible for their class theme one year too...LOVE IT!

  18. Rebecca, When the music swells at "You alone are my strength, my shield," my heart swells to my throat. Our choir sang this all over Romania and watched people surrender their life to Him. That song reminds me of one of the biggest joys of my life. Thank you, Rebecca.
    Love, Mary B.

  22. Read the comment you left for me...Ewww! Poor baby. i'm glad she is going to be okay. I love the post card in this post and love the song. There are 4 bucks (I've put pics of them on my blog) that have been hanging out at a local cemetery for most fo the summer, enjoying the shade. I always think of this song when I see them.

  23. I was singing along, as I know the words by heart. We sang that quite often at the church where I came to know Jesus. (The church I'm in now must write their own music, because I never know any of their praise songs.)

Anyhow, thank you for an uplifting, inspiring share today.

    Love and blessings,
    Patti
