~HIS PROTECTIVE HAND and Not a Scratch~

~Christmas 1982~
Brandon and his Momma

Earlier this morning after dropping my Miss K off at school my son was involved in a serious automobile accident during rush hour traffic.  We aren't sure of all the details because the crash happened very fast, but Brandon's SUV was totaled and was completely flipped over.  Miraculously he was able to unbuckle his seat belt and crawl out the hatch.  The other driver never even braked...

Do I EVEN need to tell you how grateful I am my son AND the other driver were not killed in this accident?  More and MORE I seen the protective hand of God in my life and in the lives of my children.

Just one more thing to be grateful for this year.  I'm on my knees once again this morning thanking God for His mercy and grace.

Love to you all...

This grateful Momma...

  5. OMG Rebecca! Praise God, thank you Jesus!!!! I am so glad your precious son is o.k. What would happen if we didn't have God in our lives? I know as a praying momma myself, that I continually pray a hedge of protection around my family. Praying for God's continued protection and blessings on you and your family's lives.

    Love in Christ,
    Marie

  6. OMG! Rebecca I am so sorry to hear that but thankfully he is okay and the other driver also. That very thing happened to my son in his police car a few years ago. Thankfully he was able to crawl out too. Makes me cry thinking about it. Hugs to you!

  11. I pray for my kids' and grandkids' safety every single morning as I eat breakfast, sweetpea. I know that is one that I can't NOT do to keep them safe since they drive the California freeways. So far, so good! They need all the help this mother can give them.

  13. Oh Rebecca, what an AMAZING story!!

To see HIS mercy in action touches so deeply, doesn't it??

He is ALWAYS there for us even when we can't 'see' his mercy in action or have a totaled SUV to show as proof.

Your post became my devotion for the day. I'll be telling this over the Christmas dinner table!

    Hugs,
    Melissa

  17. Rebecca, glad to hear no one was injured or killed. Life can take some unexpected turns in our lives and we had a very horrible accident in our small town. 4 sky divers were killed when the plane they were in crashed. I saw the accident when I passed on the I-10 and I don't know how the other 2 made it out safely, although they are in the hospital. God Bless you and your family and glad God spared them all. Love and hugs, Pat

  18. Sweet Rebecca...

Isn't God AWESOME? I so agree... there is nothing like the power of prayer. I just listened to Joel Osteen, about a week ago, talking about the protection of God and praying for your family's care as they leave. It was a wonderful message. The SUV is easy to replace... Your sweeeeeeetest Miss K and precious son.....impossible. I'll be praying for him... those brutal collisions can sure cause some pain.

Huggies to you....! Always a MOM, right??

  19. I am so relieved to hear that Brandon is okay...someone was definitely looking out for him today :) I so hate to hear about someone being in a car accident; brings back very sad memories for me...my father was killed in a car accident 20 years ago on his way home from work. I think about him and my mother being gone..especially around the holidays.

Well, this will be an even more special and blessed Christmas for you and your family :)

    Warmest hugs, Brenda

  20. Dear Rebecca...
Oh what a great great blessing!!! I am so so thankful with you for God's loving care of your precious little boy (I know he's a man now - like my own son - but there is a part of us Mothers that always sees the little boy or girl in our children; as the photo you published today shows so beautifully!) What an extra special Christmas this will be for your family this year!!
May God's blessings always fall so beautifully around you and your family!
Merry Christmas - five days early!
    Ann

  58. Hi Rebecca, I noticed on the right hand side of your page the "love is" cartoon. I was born and raised in Anadarko, Ok and when I was in high school I used to collect those out of the Daily Oklahoman (I think that was the name of the newspaper). I have lived in AZ for the last 30yrs, and when I saw that cartoon on your page it brought back some nice memories. Thanks for sharing, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Marla
