~~~~~THOUGHTS ON A SUNDAY MORNING~~~~~ A Living Prayer
 ~THOUGHTS ON A SUNDAY MORNING~
I found out just after Christmas that one of my sweet childhood friends was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness earlier this past year.  Although I don't know many of the details, I do know that if I were facing the very thing my old friend, Andrea, is facing I would no doubt be very afraid.
As I prayed for my friend late Saturday night I couldn't help but remember back when we were just young girls and how the most important thing to us was what new boy we liked or who had the longest brown hair...
 ~ANDREA IN A PRETTY GARDEN~
Funny how when you grow up the childhood things once travailed over seem to just pass away.  In my heart I know that while I'm stressing over regular life stuff (like completing my bathroom remodel) that Andie, no doubt, is praying for a miracle and asking God for the growing tumor inside her head to be no more.
Since we are all children of The Most High I believe He must truly hate it when one of us suffers...  I don't always understand the things that God allows, but I do know for certain that He loves us.
I've learned over many years of living that I have a long, long way to go in the faith category.  But, I have decided to give the enemy of my  life fair warning!  He may make life miserable sometimes and even unbearable for me and those I love, but I am NEVER gonna quit fighting him!  And, I'm never going to stop believing in better days or that God truly has wonderful plans for each of our lives.
Today I'm going to spend some time being a bit more specific when asking about mine.
The first song on my PLAYLIST today is by Allison Krauss and Union Station.  For me it says it all.  If you'd like to listen to it just turn your sound on.  I promise you...it's beautiful.
~A LIVING PRAYER~
In this world I walk alone
With no place to call my home,
But there's one who holds my hand
Through rugged roads, through barren lands.
The way is dark, the road is steep,
But He's become my eyes to see,
The strength to climb, my griefs to bear.
The Savior lives inside me there.
Chorus:
In Your love I find relief,
A haven from my unbelief.
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer, my God, to Thee.
In these trials of life I find
Another voice inside my mind.
He comforts me and bids me live
Inside the love the Father gives.
In Your love I find relief,
A haven from my unbelief.
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer, my God, to Thee.
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer, my God, to Thee.
~*~
Blessings to you all on this gorgeous new day!  I'd be so grateful if you'd carve out a little time to say a prayer for Andrea...  She's such a beautiful lady.
Love to you...
Rebecca- I think working in a hospital has changed my whole way of thinking about life. Suddenly, it is no longer quite so important to have 15 towels folded exactly the same way and placed in a perfect stack in the bathroom cabinet.
Dinner not perfect? No problem...we can eat something else. Crayon on the wall? Magic erasers to the rescue.
I come home from a day of brain tumors and incurable diseases and children that are dying before our eyes and I realize that LIFE is so much bigger than my small world of small problems.
I am blessed just to BE...my family is blessed just to BE...I am blessed to be able to blog and share the lives of other bloggers.
Thank you, Rebecca, for reminding us about what is really important. You are a dear sweet, loving soul...don't ever change.
I am praying for your friend...Hugs- Diana
Rebecca,
Jumped over here to check in and saw your post about your friend..
Andie. I see Debbie up at the top in your left column. She is in my prayers too, and now...Andie will be right in my prayers alongside another bloggy sister. So many people that are suffering, hurting, going through challenges...out there...We do not have to meet or "know" these gals to understand we are all "family". We are truly sisters...connected by our love for the ONE who gave us the "roots" that gives us the same name. It is a privilege whether we realize it at the time or not...to pray. Another sister.
She will be covered by many now because she was mentioned in Blogland. Hugs to you Rebecca. So glad you are better. It is NO fun to be sick. However,...every time I get pretty sick...(not just a common cold or nuisance virus)...I find myself learning again ...closeness to the Father.
Even in sickness, there are blessings. :-) :-) xoxo
It is sometimes difficult to understand the big picture, when are able to see only a snippet. That is where faith steps in. Prayers for Andrea and you, that both of you may feel and be comforted by that faith.
Hi Sweet friend of mine,
Add her to my list of prayers ..Jesus is STILL the BeSt Doctor EvEr !!
I too, like soo many others, have realized JUST what is important in life .. Not soo much what we hold dear in our hands, BUT, what is held and stored in our hearts forever ... Everything else is just small stuff .. Took me 50 years to figure this out, BUT, lesson learned ..
Thanks for the sweet, touch the heart post .. LoVe and hugs to you sweet one ~
