"LOVE IS..." and Other Things That Matter

"LOVE IS...trying to understand Football"

OK...here it is!

A Short and Sweet Post that is right to the POINT!

I don't get the whole FOOTBALL THING! I don't!!!!!

I try to understand it...I really do! But in the end it escapes me! Year after year my guy tries his best to EXPLAIN it all to me. You know~the white lines, the flags and just why those big, tough looking men run up and down the field and all that...

Still...nothing computes.

After 30 plus years of cheering his favorite teams right along side of him (albeit TOTALLY clueless as to what I was screaming about!), I've finally decided that I like shopping better!

While he's watching the game I'm more than happy to go out and spend some of his hard-earned money! *wink*

Blessings to you as you figure out what works in your life...Rebecca

Love is trying not to figure out why they love football so! I do remember these comic strips. Thanks for sharing.

I wholeheartedly agree. When Football is on TV, it's always a good time to take a nap too!

Hello Rebecca, lucky for me Jack doesn't like to watch football!!! He only likes sports that he participates in... for me, my favorite "sport" has got to be shopping! Bisous... Julie Marie

I'm right there with ya, sistah! DH dearly loves his football, yet realizes I'm a waste of a good ticket. He doesn't ask nor expect me to go with him to games, but has said numerous times he'd be happy to have me go if I wanted to. I just don't want to. Shopping is my thing, too. We have an understanding and it works...sounds like you and your hubby do, too!

Hi, Miss R! ☺ For me, love is letting Bobby enjoy his politics. ☺ He's never been into football but my older guys were into it when they were little so I would have football parties for them- have the cousins over, etc. My Micah is only into watching the highlights of a game.

I used to try to get football. That man that runs before everyone else...I used to ask my hubs...why doesn't someone stop him, don't they KNOW he is going to do that? I gave up a LONG time ago. And as my hubby got older and the players had more issues...he isn't as interested anymore...sigh, oh, so sad.

Loved this post, Rebecca! And I have to tell you a funny story. Several years ago, I had a female co-worker at the university who loved football. Monday mornings, she'd give me play-by-play highights of the Saturday games. It was sink or swim. I had to learn about the game or die of boredom listening to her. So I began to watch the games...now, mind you, my husband wasn't interested so I did this by myself...while he went shopping. Yes! Honestly! I became a tried and true fan of our local university's team and continue even now to watch all of their games...though my co-worker moved away long ago. The best part of the story is that my husband began to wonder what I found so interesting and started watching with me. So now we watch the games together. What fun! Of course, after the games, we go shopping!

Hi, Rebecca,
Yes, I think that would give you a good excuse to go out and do a little shopping. Now, I do love football and all sports. In fact, that is about all I watch on tv. People find that hard to believe about me, but it is true. I always enjoy reading your "Love is" posts. Vicki

Hi Rebecca,
My hubby doesn't get into football but my son Jeff does, big time! I don't have a clue so you're not alone!

Blessings,
Sandi
