~GONE TO SOON - Remembering You In Love~

To My Beloved Grandmother...

My thoughts on this first anniversary of your passing are simple, Grams.

MY GRANDPARENTS - 1965
I pray every single day to be for my grandchildren all you were to me during my life.
I miss you more than words can say.
GRAMMA & ME - June 2008
Thank you for standing in the gap.
Thank you, for everything.
Love, Becky
GONE TOO SOON
Like a comet
Blazing 'cross the evening sky
Gone too soon

Like a rainbow
Fading in the twinkling of an eye
Gone too soon
Shiny and sparkly
And splendidly bright
Here one day
Gone one night

Like the loss of sunlight
On a cloudy afternoon
Gone too soon

Like a castle
Built upon a sandy beach
Gone too soon

Like a perfect flower
That is just beyond your reach
Gone too soon

Born to amuse, to inspire, to delight
Here one day
Gone one night

Like a sunset
Dying with the rising of the moon
Gone too soon
Gone too soon
Grossman/Kohan
Blessings to you as you miss those who have gone too soon...Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
I'm so glad you have such wonderful memories of your grandmother! You are blessed to have had her for so long! You have written a wonderful tribute to her.
I lost mine when I was a little girl but I remember her as though it was just yesterday. She is in my earliest memories; going to church together, feeding the chickens and gathering the eggs, and going to town on the big bus to shop. I was planning on writing a tribute in her honour this week as it would have been her birthday on the 2nd.
Thank you for your visit. I always enjoy having you stop by. Have a beautiful day.

Blessings,
Sandi

Rebecca, aren't grandmas the very best...I absolutely loved your beautiful tribute to your grandma...My "Ita" (abuelita=grandma) was the light in my life, she raised me from the day I was born, to age 3 then was my constant love for the rest of my life...she taught me lifes lessons and how to be graceful and loving, respectful yet strong...she was my everything..the light in my life...when I lost her, it was like something was turned off in my heart and life and there is a gap that has never been filled with her loss...the first year after I lost her was honestly a blurr..little by little I am embracing her memories, as I do I feel myself becoming whole again, and I hope like you, that one day when I am lucky enough to be a grandma, that I will be even 1 tenth as loving, caring, nurturing and strong as her...I send you hugs today as you remember your grandmas beautiful heart. Besos to you, Rose

Rebecca, one more thing, I forgot to tell you, you and I were truly blessed, we got to have them in our lives for so many wonderful years...that gave us thousands of beautiful memories that are cherished and we can recall at anytime to make us feel them once again in our hearts and minds..I remembered this when I saw your first lovely comment from Sandi, I loved what she said...That her grandmother was her earliest memories...that is how my Ita was to me, I hope she doesn't mind me borrowing that statement, it was beautiful. My ita like yours got to live a long beautiful life, mine was 93 when we lost her in 2007,I can say all this now...was different story not too long ago :) Besos, Rose

Hello Rebecca... what a beautiful post to a beautiful grandma... I know she is looking down at you right now with a smile on her face and love in her heart... My daddy left us just about a year prior to the date your grandma did, two years ago yesterday... still "much too soon"...I started to post about it and was unable to do so...overcome by emotions... I love how much you care about your family, to me there is nothing more important than that...such a precious photo of you and your grandma... love to you... Bisous... Julie Marie PS Somehow, even though bittersweet sometimes, your posts always bring me peace and calm...

Hi Sweet Rebecca Girl...
I so loved this beautiful tribute that you wrote about your precious Grandma. I love the pic of you both together. How precious. You haven't changed a bit sweet girl.

She has her star hanging amongst the other billions in our sky. She shines down for you to see each and every night, and shines on everything you do each day. You made her so proud sweetie. You can just see the love she has for you.

Isn't it wonderful to go to our bookshelf and pull a memory every now and then, and remember when? I love my book of memories, as they can never be taken from me. I don't have to go to a library to check them out, they can't be misplaced. I share my memories with my children and grandchildren every day so that these beautiful memories will be told for years to come.

I pray that you had a wonderful holiday Thanksgiving. I was thinking of you.

Stop by soon. I love it when you do. Country hugs...Sherry

Becky--

Thank you for sharing this wonderful post about your grandmother. She was a
Beautiful Lady and I miss her very much.

I had a Great Grandmother also. She litterly held her family together by taking in washinging to support her children. My mother was a very special person who was always at my father's side.
My sisters and I were most fortunate.

I celebrate both mother and Grandmother's birthdays on December 26 and 28 respectfully.

Loved the poem. It was fantastic.

Hugs-- Mom

What a lovely tribute to your grandmother.

I have been missing my grandmothers quite a bit lately. It seems everything I do lately reminds me of my grandmothers. I was so blessed to have my great grandma in my life until I was 12 years old. I learned so much from her.
Our grandmothers are so important to us.

Rebecca, you always write so beautifully. Your grandmother would be proud. I miss my grandma too, she didn't act like a grandma should, because she was a kid like me, just bigger. Love you grandma. It's hardest during the holidays, not having the ones we love with us to celebrate. We have good memories though, don't we? Grandma is smiling down on you sweet Rebecca, and she's holding you a spot in heaven. Now, there's something to celebrate!

XOXOXOX!
Marie

Big hugs to you as we both are missing our loved ones right now.

DEAR REBECCA,
SO VERY BEAUTIFUL...A BEAUTIFUL THOUGHT FOR ME AS I READ YOUR TRIBUTE IS THAT AMY IS REJOICING WITH NOT ONLY HER GREAT GRANDMA'S BUT OTHERS, SUCH AS YOUR BEAUTIFUL GRANDMA. WE CAN'T EVEN IN OUR MINDS IMAGINE HOW GLORIOUS IT WILL BE WHEN WE GRADUATE.
YOU HAVE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT. I KNOW OUR GRANDMA'S SPIRITS ARE WITH US EVERY DAY.
YOU KNOW WHEN I WAS PREGNANT WITH AMY, I LOST BOTH GRANDMA AND GRANDDAD 6 MONTHS A PART. SHE ONLY KNEW THEM THROUGH THE MEMORIES MOTHER AND I SHARED WITH HER.
I HAVE LEARNED A LOT FROM YOU.
I AM SO HAPPY YOU HAVE BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES OF YOUR GRANDMA....AND I KNOW WHAT A WONDERFUL GRANDMOTHER YOU ARE TO MISS BEAUTIFUL K.

Hello Rebecca~I've just strolled in for my first visit...I've enjoyed your sweet sentiments about your precious grandma. All, but one of the matriarchs in my family have passed and are sorely missed.

I took a peek at your past posts too. You've got so many wonderful treasures. Your blog is so beautifully inviting.
We share similar taste for so many of the same design elements.

As fall comes to a close I look forward to winter that's fast approaching, bringing a festive inspiration for trimming and baking.
Don't you love the aroma that fills the air during this season?
My cat also appreciates the evergreens and an occasional ping pong toss of my ornaments...

I've bookmarked you in my favs.
I look forward to coming by your charming blog again.
Come by for a visit. Your company would be nice.

Sweet wishes,
Sara

What a wonderful tribute to your grandmother. Grandparents are so special and a part of God's marvelous plan. When I taught, one assignment was for students to write one of their favorite memories, more than not, the memory of a majority of students involved a grandparent.
You were fortunate to have your grandmother for such a long time. My favorite grandmother - the one close by, passed shortly after my wedding in 1977.

Oh Reb... I lost my Grandma when I was 16 & *Mary Tasker Adair* was 85she meant the world to me simply an amazing Lady who was always there for me. Mary was a very strong women who lost her elest daughter to cancer when she was only 25 & brought up her 3 children by herself when her husband left her. I believe her faith kept her going, I never heard a bad word pass her lips & since the age of 12 when I learnt her middle name (which was her Mums maiden name) I knew if I was ever blessed to have a daughter I would name her after my Grandma, the only difference I took the *er* off & changed it to *Taska*. For the past 16 years everytime I have spoken that oh so special name I am reminded of the Lady I loved so much. I have since been told she is my *Guardian Angel* who watches over me & you have no idea how much that comforts me. Thank you for this special post....
