"Love Is..." and Other Things That Matter

"LOVE IS...Praying Together"

Over the past several months I've so enjoyed posting for you some of my favorite "LOVE IS..." Clippings! If you've been following my Blog for a bit then you know that on Wednesdays I TRY and keep things lighthearted by sharing one of the "Love Is..." cartoons my hubby tucked into his love letters to me while we were dating. They are as relevant today as they ever were (only if you Google them now they aren't NAKIE anymore! Somebody finally bought them some clothes)!

During 31 years of marriage to my Mr. AGPMan we have faced many things. When we wed in 1978 we were laden with MANY dollars of school debt and did without lots of the things that bring comfort to our lives today. Back then my guy worked in Air Conditioning and Heating and would do almost anything to pay the bills. At one point in our marriage he worked FOUR JOBS. In all honesty there were times when we barely survived. There were days when we had only tiny amounts of food and moments when we were forced to count the last of our pennies in order to buy gas for our 'Tank of a Car' (and that was when gas was 65 cents a gallon...or less!).

It was during those very lean years (and they lasted a LONG TIME!) that we began to pray together and it has remained the most profound of all blessings in my life...

Over the years my guy and I have prayed for so many things. Grace. Wisdom. Strength. Faith. Finances. Children. Employment. Healing. Help. Protection. Restoration. Acceptance. Forgiveness... You name it, we've prayed for it and over it. What I've learned most when kneeling (or sitting, standing, walking, resting, etc.) beside my beloved is that prayer truly does change things. How grateful and thankful I am that the God of the Universe, the Lord of my life, cares enough about me to want to listen to what I have to say.

"GOT PROBLEMS?"

Try prayer!

He's listening!

Blessings to you as you bow your head with those you love...Rebecca

Hey sweet girl....saw your comment about my dishes while I am waiting to link up with the other dishaholics. Ha. Ron built lots of shelves in the laundry room for my 'dish habit.'

Ron and I married in our early 30's and have always prayed together. I will admit that I take the lead most often but he has the best spiritual fruit of anyone I have ever known. I love God with all my heart but some of my fruit has major bruises on it but his is grade A Number one.

I am blessed beyond words to know such a man!

Blessings to you my sweet friend!
Love, Barb ♥

That is a wonderful blessing. Prayer is the answer to all things. I have a daughter now struggling, seems like there is always someone struggling in a family with 6 children and 10 grands. About time one gets straightened out something pops up with another. Lord give us the strength to carry on.

Rebecca, how wonderful, prayer sure does go far with us when we need it. I find it hard now, times are so tough and we struggle to do anything nowadays, with me in school and he lost his job over 3 months ago we are feeling the crunch. I have been praying so hard, and by the grace of God he got an interview yesterday we are so excited. I know its just an interview but it is a sign for me from God that he truly is watching he is there for us, and I will always be there to speak and pray to the Lord.

I love your post, I hope this day finds you well, and man I wish gas was .65$ a gallon instead of 2.59 a gallon here in Arizona :0)

Blessings
Heidi

Oh Rebecca sweetie.
I so love this post. How many times have we all found ourselves on our knees asking God to guide us, give us wisdom to make the right decision, heal one of our loved ones. So many times, and I am so thankful even more so, that he has heard and answered every single one of them. He has never turned his back.

Thank you sweet friend. You know how much this one means to me. I love you, Sherry

We truly are kindred spirits! Thank you for your comment on my post. Truly prayer is the answer to all things. I certainly related to your post today and am praying that God will bless you with all things good through the rest of your life. Hard times build our faith, but it is certainly hard to go through. God bless you! Rita
