~SWEET ROSY CHEEKS and a Little Answer to Prayer~

 ~SWEET ROSY CHEEKS~

Don't you just love the knee-jerk reaction you get when the heavens open up, God smiles down on you and you unearth something you've been searching to for the longest time?

Months ago when I decided to include a line of paper goods on my website I began searching for several very rare images painted by the renowned artist, Miss Frances Brundage.  I love this vintage painter's work and, like many of you, I've been a huge fan of the beautiful things she created long ago with her gifted hands.

Anyway...I was hoping to find the elusive prints so I could use them in the making of sweet Greeting Cards, Hang Tags and Note Cards.

Search as I may I just could not find the exact ones I was looking for.

~ALL WRAPPED UP~

Well, about three weeks ago I found ONE of the prints and I nearly fainted from excitement.  The title of the artwork is called "Rosy Cheeks" and it was used in a charming 1905 Calender.  When I purchased it I had no idea (it helps to read the description) that is was a LARGE 11" x 14" image!  What?

It was just perfect for scanning and reducing down in size.

Even though I had to spend more ca$h on it than I had planned, in the end I'm hoping to get my money back over and over again.

With lots of help from Paint Shop ProX/10 (wow...I'm thinking about trying #13) the sweet little Cards and Hang Tag you see above were born!  The Note Cards are now off to the printer and they should be back in time to include them in my soon-to-be reopened website.

Thank you Frances!  Your work continues to inspire me.  Thank you God for caring about even the little prayers we pray...

Blessings~

Oh Rebecca..a true face of an angel! I know precisely what you mean when Heaven suddenly smiles on us. When it happens to me, I feel just like you described!

Your gift from above is absolutely breathtaking! I love how you openly thanked God for His attention to detail in answering your prayer. You made my morning!

Oh, I grabbed your button and posted it on my sidebar at Dimples & Dragonflies. I need to do a post to comment on your upcoming giveaway for another chance to win the beautiful gift you're offering. Now it's my time to thank God openly for having found you and your wonderful site. Thank you God for leading and directing my every step. Thank you for first sending Marydon..then her sweet friend Rebecca.

Blessings, Joy and Saturday Sunshine to you Sweet Rebecca, Terri

To Colleen: I sent you a separate post about copyrights, but I also wanted to post about it here.

Copyrights, if they were even in place, have long since expired on the works of Brundage and Clapsaddle making it possible to use them in altered art projects. Otherwise their work would languish un-used and run the risk of being forgotten.

That said...being an altered art artist can get you in trouble sometimes as not all copyrights are vintage prints, etc. are expired. A good example is the artwork of Tasha Tudor. All rights to her work are family owned.

Thank you for commenting!

The "little" things are always my favorite answers to prayer. God cares even about the minutia. I'm so happy for your "find"....
