~VINTAGE MILLINERY SACHETS~
I'm always amazed when my Mr. AGPMan is out of town just how much product I can produce for my A Gathering Place Website! :) I'm thinkin' that "Man-'O-Mine" kinda-sorta takes up a lot of my creative time with all the remodeling work we have going on (wouldn't have it any other way!) :) The only upside to him being out of pocket is that my sweet girl and her hubby are staying here at my La Chaumière de Briarwood with me... That is ALWAYS fun and I get to cook for three people instead of just one!
~GORGEOUS FLORALS BOTH OLD AND NEW~
And so...I had lots of time this weekend to work on some of my favorite springtime offerings that includes the sweet vintage millinery Sachet Pillows you see pictured! I'm not sure I love anything more than creating flirty little confections for your romantic cottage chic homes...
~SOME WITH VINTAGE SHELL BUTTONS~
I'll be uploading these fragrant beauties this afternoon and I hope if they are something you love you'll check them out!
~TINY (REAL) BIRD'S NEST~
Now...yesterday evening while watering our yard I took our hanging Ferns down from our front porch so I could give them a good soaking. I couldn't help but notice one of my sweet plants was looking a tad bit scraggly. It looked like some of the leaves were broken which I assumed (?) was caused by our Oklahoma wind! As I dug around to remove the damaged foliage I stumbled upon the reason for the Fern's tattered appearance...
~BIRDY'S HANDIWORK~
(with a little help from God)
Apparently a little Momma Birdie (probably a eeencie-wheeencie Wren) was building a nest at the center of the plant and I unwittingly touched it thinking it was nothing more than a bunch moss... WAHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I was heartbroken to think the mommy-to-be had to find a new place in which to lay her eggs and I'm hoping she had time to build yet another nest before her time came to deliver...
~ONLY 4" WIDE~
I'm going to keep this sweet nest!! It is so itty-bitty and truly a work of art. Isn't it amazing? I see God's handiwork in every tiny detail! Any great ideas on what I should do with it? I thought about placing it under a glass cloche or something...what do you think?
(I forgot to say, but was reminded by Miss Judy, that you MUST spray real bird's nest with insecticide before bringing them indoors...I did this and you should, too!)

Hoping you are enjoying these early Spring days! Gosh...LIFE IS GOOD!
Love to you~

Gorgeous creations! Have a blessed day my friend, HUGS!
Rebecca,
I too have found litle nests before-wrens will nest almost anywhere but especially in ferns. If you are going to keep the nest indoors you may want to spray it lightly with insecticide. Hate to tell you but the little birdies, even the precious little wrens will have little mites and other little goodies that would might not want on your tablescape. I usually just spray it out on the porch, let it air a while and all is well. This hint was pasted on to me from a friend long ago. Wrens even tried to nest in my yard shoes I had on a bench, had to bring the shoes indoors, I needed the shoes. LOL. BTW, beautifull little sachets and pillows!!!
Have a Blessed Day, Judy
Ah, as I read your post, I was going to tell you about spraying it, but I see that someone else has already told you. You know, we can make a nest, but it definitely is not the same as they birds making it. Isn't there just something precious about looking at it and knowing that there would have been life given in it? So mucyh fun to watch them hatch also! Hope your day is going well!

these are very romantic and beautiful creations and i like the shabby look
Hello my friend... love your teeny little nest... and don't worry, daddy wren builds most of the nest, sometimes many nests, then mama wren chooses which one she wants, and finishes "feathering the nest"... part of their courtship... nothing sweeter!... love to you from your Nature loving friend!... xoxo Julie Marie
Your creations are lovely! Oh how sweet that bird's nest is! I love Spring - we have tons of birds and ducks around and it is such a joy to see them raise their babies!
Have a wonderful week!

Beautiful sachets. Wow ~ just lovely ;-)
How wonderful that you have this sweet little nest..and your little "pillows" are absolutely gorgeous! I love them. You are so talented, Rebecca...God has certainly gifted you with artistic talent.
As for the bird's nest...maybe you already do this...but I keep one packed away and we put it in the Christmas tree every year. It is supposed to be a good luck symbol...all my kids do the same thing because they grew up with it...and it is supposed to be one you find abandoned~ xxoo Diana
Rebecca I love your beautiful pillows. You get so much done on the weekends. It seems my weekends fly by and I get absolutely nothing accomplished!
Hi Rebecca,
Lovely pillows! And the nest is as sweet as can be.
My husband is retired so I never get anything done!lol
Hugs,
sonya
Hi Rebecca
Your sachet pillows are adorable, always so feminine.
I have a couple of bird's nests that I use for indoor decor and the work that goes into making them is astounding. There are some really good faux nests to purchase as well that are cute.

Hi Rebecca sweet,
your sachets are so beautiful! I can see you have been so busy.
Isn't it wonderful when our dughters come to stay. I had one here last weekend and another coming this weekend. They are truly my best friends.
I hope you get all the things done you have planned. You are such a gifted lady...and I adore you!
sending hugs...
Beautiful sachet pillows!! And what a darling little nest!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Rebecca...I love your little bird's nest!
I "collect" them (fallen, of course)...and my hubbin found one that actually had two tiny ribbons woven into the grass! I use them as part of my Spring porch decor...on a plant stand with pots of pansies, painted wooden eggs and a terracotta bunny.
I've never sprayed them, though...and never thought to do so...but I will from now on!
Those are Gorgeous sachets !!! Yummy !!! :) :) The nest is darling. Although the first thing I thought is that they have lice. And then I read you sprayed it. :) I am so glad you did, most people don't know about the critters in them. :) It would look really sweet under a cloche :) Your chandeliers look awesome !! You both did such a great job. I LOVE the metal filigree's on the ceiling. Missed you !! Hugs :):)
