~~~~~~BREATHAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL~~~~~~ Simply Gorgeous America
 ~GRAND CANYON~
Amazingly Beautiful
One might think that since I spent my entire childhood in Southern California I'd have somehow made my way to the Grand Canyon in Arizona before reaching "Nana-status!"  Even with all the I-40 road trips from Oklahoma back to my birth state we somehow never managed to make the little detour to see one of the greatest natural wonders of the world.
~TRULY MIRACULOUS~
A week ago today my Mr. AGPMan and I snapped the pictures I'm sharing with you today.  Never in my wildest dreams could I have understood the majesty of the Canyon without seeing it with my own two eyes.
~CREATED BY GOD~
~MY HUBBY TAKING IN THE VIEW~
 ~OVERCOME BY THE BEAUTY~
 ~QUEEN OF THE CANYON~
(Yeah...right!  Couldn't WAIT to get off of that rock!)
~LOVELY ROCK FORMATIONS~
 ~IN SERIOUSLY DEEP THOUGHT~
I snapped this pic of the hubster while he was standing in line for information about a Helicopter Canyon Tour.  We seriously considered hoping onto one of the six-seater-copters for a 55 minute in-flight excursion....  BUT~being the total woosy-girl that I am I just couldn't do it!  Nope, Never, NAUTA!   I'm not sure YET if my guy was happy about my decision to keep my feet firmly planted on the ground.  It would have cost us about $900 (for both) and this girl was more that thrilled to see the Canyon from behind the railing!
Regardless of the fact we opted to skip the in-air tour, I'll never forget seeing the Canyon for myself.   Beyond beautiful.  Beyond fabulous.  A miraculous creation by God!
 ~TINY CHAPEL IN THE WOODS~
On the way back to Flagstaff we stopped by and peeked in for a closer look at this tiny little Chapel just off the road.
~THE SWEETEST THING~
I was intrigued by it's style and form and so I just HAD to see if it was open!
~INSIDE VIEW~
I was thrilled to be able to walk inside.  The ground was made up of strewn pebbles and the seating was simple and uncomplicated.  Just perfect for a little bit of worship, meditation and a prayer or two (or three, or four, five, six...)
~LOVELY DOOR~
 ~BACK VIEW~
 ~A GIFT FROM A TRAVELER~
 ~MY HANDSOME HUBBY~
I loved visiting Arizona and we hope to return again to see even more of this lovely State later this summer.  In July we will be going to California and we plan on stopping off again for at least a day visit!
I'll be back later this evening for news on my latest
GIVEAWAY!  I hope you'll stop back in to see what's coming up next!
Blessings for a fabulous Spring day!
Love to you...
Wasn't the Grand Canyon a sight of majesty to behold!!! I have been
there twice and I could go back and am sure, see different vistas! It is truly breath-taking there.
I am like you, though, I could not bring myself to take a ride in the little helicoptor...and my hubby being a former TEST pilot for the Lockeed Program for the CHEYENNE helicopter back in his younger days, and also an Army helicoptor pilot in Korea!!!...but I did let him talk me into flying in a tiny two-seater plane up in Oskos, Minnesota one summer day!!! AND it turned out to be such fun!!!
Traveling has always been HIGH on my list of priorities, and I have done more than my share, but these good ole United States hold some of the most beautiful scenery any
place on earth.
GOD BLESS AMERICA TODAY!!!!
Love, Francy
We didn't do the Helicopter either! We did a Jeep tour and it was awesome:)
Hope you are getting some rest! We also want to go back the Grand Canyon area! We really enjoyed all of the Red Rocks in Sedona while out there!
Have a blessed day, HUGS!
Rebecca, you're so right...a person just needs to see the Grand Canyon in person to really grasp the beauty and majesty of it all. Sounds like you and hubby will be visiting again! You have some great pics.; thanks for sharing.
Simply beautiful.
I have lived in Arizona all my life and I have never been to the Grand Canyon. (bad huh?)
God definitely made some beautiful scenery!
Dearest Rebecca,
Together with Pieter I read your blog... It looks like those helicopter trips are as expensive in the mid-80s when we couldn't afford them! That's a lot of money and as a do-it-yourself couple one can do so much with that money otherwise. You did have a great view of the Canyon. We were in Las Vegas a couple of years ago and were in doubt between the Canyon and the Hoover Dam so we saw the Dam. Time was limited. But we will be back one day. It is worth it.
Still admire your soaps, à la Rebecca; such a nice presentation. I remember your pink ribbon being so soft and fluid. You must have bought that on the mile...
Lots of love,
Mariette
Is that not a place of breathtaking beauty? It has been a long time since we were there. Our boys were young and we were camping. We could find no place to park our camper while there, so we didn't get to see near as much of it as we planned, but enough to see it's majesty! I would love to go back some day. I hope you and hubster will get to do it again. You will see many things that you missed this time. Glad you are back. Wonderful pictures!
Rebecca, you were here and gone before I ever knew it. It's o.k, looks like you had little time for visiting.
I have to say that if you return in July, it's going to be very hot. Up in the 112's PLUS. Fall is gorgeous and so is winter, but summer....not so.
I would love to see you. Please keep me in mind, Char
The Grand Canyon's beauty is behond pictures and words. I first saw it close to sunset where all the colors reflected on the various walls of the canyon. I was tranformed by the beauty - took my breath away. After an hour, I sat on the edge and stared out into the vastness wanting to hold onto the image of beauty. Then I came out of my trance as a squirrel was drinking my iced tea. An experience I'll never forget.
There is nothing quite as awe striking as the Grand Canyon in person.Did you happen to stop in Sedona? It's considered one of the most beautiful places on Earth. We stopped in and feel in love with it!
Grand Canyon can never be described adequately..... you've gotta be there! One of God's great creations.....
Your pictures are great!
I think you make a wise decision on NOT going on the 'copter ' ride for $900.00..... just think what you can buy for your beautiful home for that much money..... that would be my thoughts.
O haven't been lucky enough to see the Grand Canyon or go to Arizona yet. I can only imagine how breath-taking it must be. I would love to do a fly over but would have chocked when I heard the price.
You and your husband make a beautiful couple. Are you sure you don't model?
Love...Tracy :)
