~~~~SIMPLY INCREDIBLE VINTAGE FINDS~~~~ With Big Sister in Tow
 ~Vintage Laundry Hamper Frame $1~
(I'm going to make a liner for this and it's gonna be FAB!)
A couple of days ago I shared with you my INCREDIBLE TAG SALE FINDS!!
~Vintage Double Recipe Box $1~
(It's gonna be great painted pink!!!)
Remember???  I told you all about my 'garage sale sins' and how I came upon all those fabulooooo-so glass jars/bottles!  They were definitely the Cat's Meow!
~Vintage Decoupage Box~
(Can't remember the $ on this one...still fab tho!)
Well...today I'm revealing to you all the great things I found on my latest trip around OKLAHOMA CITY!
 ~Vintage Glass Jars .75~
(I'm still faint over that big one being .50!)
I'm telling you...our state has some of the BEST Garage, Estate and Tag Sales one can ever hope to come across.
 ~Vintage "What-Not" Drawer .50~
(Will be sweet repainted!!!)
 ~Vintage Baby Jar .25~
(Lovely As-Is~)
 ~Vintage Sifter .50~
(I've painted many of these!)
These pics are in no particular order except I am ending with my favorite find of the day!
 ~4 Yards of Fabulous Lace Sheeting $3.00~
(Wonderful for Sweet Sachets)
 ~Vintage Baby Shoes $1.00~
(Six Single Shoes in this Bag...great for those pin cushions!)
  Now...in case you are wondering WHY I was out gallivanting once again around our town when I WAS SUPPOSE to be saving $$$ for our kitchen remodel...
~Vintage Lace Collar $10~
~25 Yards Pink Upholstery Grade Fabric~ 28.00~
(OK~so NOT a great deal on the collar~but I made up for it on the fabric!)
~Eleven yards of PINK Moire' Taffeta $10~
(Incredible price on this fabric!)
Well, it's because my big sister is here visiting from Tennessee and I couldn't resist taking her she begged me to take her to all the places I save so much money!
 ~Queen Dust Ruffle w/Crochet Lace $5~
(Will look fabulous layered over my existing non-lace ruffle)
 ~Vintage Bavaria Pink Rose Sugar and Creamer $10.00~
(Eeek! Couldn't Resist!  But $5 would have been lots bettah...)
 ~Vintage "Tess of the Storm Country" Book $1~
(Shabby, but absolutely lovely)
 ~Inside View of Tess Book~
~Dated 1909~
Now...before I show you more I just have to say again it IS pretty hard for sellers to PRY $$$ out of my hands.  IT IS!  I meant what I said in my previous post...I really MUST LOVE SOMETHING to actually turn loose of my hard-earned cashola...
~Vintage Cigar Boxes .50 each~
(I got 10 for $5...not too bad!)
As much as I love vintage stuff and lovely old treasures if I can't use it OR if I can't transform it for my website then I generally pass on an item!  I love sweet and lovely old finds but I don't like a bunch a clutter and JUNQUE around!
 ~Asking Price $20~
(Sweet Bistro Chair)
~Gave $10 For It~
(Deal, Deal, DEAL!)
(Oh...for those of you who are wondering about my sister's finds...well, she snagged a vintage LANE CEDAR CHEST for $10.00 at a garage sale just around the corner from my house!  Not kidding!  Then some jerk man plowed into the back of her and smashed up the tail-gate of her PT Cruiser...)
~Lovely (Newer) Dressing Screen $8~
(I first thought the tag said $48 and I was like "yeah, right buddy!")
Now...many of the sweet things I found today I'm going to keep (like the Screen, Book, Sugar/Creamer, Laundry Hamper above, etc.).  The fabrics,  old jars, vintage laces, baby shoes, etc. will all be used in my A Gathering Place business!
 ~Darling Vintage Child's Dress $2~
(Beautiful old fabric and trim)
 ~Skirt of Child's Dress~
~Vintage 1940's Dress and Slip~
If you're still with me this gorgeous vintage dress was the find of the day!  I'm not going to tell you what I paid for it because I MIGHT resell it "as is"...
 Then again, I'm thinking I may not!  I love it that much and it looks amazing on my precious girly-girl dress form.
I learned from the lady I purchased the dress from it was made as a graduation gift from her mother to her sister in 1942.  It's made of sheer embroidered organza and is floor length.  It included the original taffeta slip and both pieces had been worn only once!
 ~My Sister, Linda and I~
1975/76
I haven't been on my computer much since my big sissy came into town.  We've done A LOT of running around and this next week we plan on doing even more!  I promise to share more of what I find as soon as possible.
Please pray my pocketbook doesn't give out! :)
Love to you...
Ohhhh! I want to go garage saling so bad! But my hubby and I are feeling under the weather. So we will have to wait another week.
You hit the mother load! I love everything you found! The dress is just beautiful and it's so cool that you got the story behind it. I know you are trying to watch your pocket book but it was important for you to show your Sis a good time, right? And really, you didn't spend that much, considering what you brought home.
I enjoyed seeing all of your fabulous thrifty finds!
Have a great time with your sis.
Hugs and love,
Sonya
Rebecca-I love reading about all your fabulous finds! Sometimes I feel like I am in "The Full Price Club"! I'm not the best at finding bargains.
I can't wait to see your items after you've spiffed them up, especially that hamper (I've been wanting one of those).
Blessings, L
Wowsers, those are some AWESOME finds!! Sis may never go back home ( I wouldn't!). That screen is wonderful and I can't wait to see the wire laundry hamper "Becced" up! The baby shoes were a great buy, too. And I can just imagine that pink moire fabric made into pretty pillows! Sigh....
Happy PS!
I'm so jealous! I would never, EVER, in a million gazillion years find even ONE of those fabulous things here in Indiana. Primitive is still big here...navy, dark red, dingy cream...it's all you see in the stores...meh. Maybe the pretty pinks and laces are more of a "southern" thing. My late MIL was from Oklahoma (Enid)...and these things remind me of her. Beautiful stuff. Good for you! Can't wait to hear more!
Oh...and you should post a pic of your car with all your treasures stuffed inside. I'm sitting here thinking, "How in the WORLD did she get all that stuff home?" In addition to your other talents, you must an awesome packer!
WHAT A HAUL !!! You do have the knack for finding the greatest bargains. I went yard sale and thrift store shopping Saturday too. I didn't score nearly as well as you though. For me the hunt is just as much fun as the catch. Just the anticipation of what might be out there yet undiscovered.
Have a beautiful week. Hugz, Carol
