For the past couple of weeks I've been working super hard on opening my new booth space at Serendipity Market here in Edmond, Oklahoma. It's been so much fun changing things up and I'm excited about this great new chapter in my life. Things are ever changing around here and it's been good to settle back into a normal routine now that my guy is out of school.
Everything
is finished in my booth except for the laying of the wood floor. To
keep the cost down we've decided to use plywood cut (and stained) into
standard size boards and laid like old plank flooring. Right now the
space has industrial carpeting (like a gray-blue) and that won't work
for me. It's nice...just not my favorite. It's been a job getting
everything ready and I have to admit I kinda miss the move-in ready
space I had before. But...Serendipity is a better fit for me and I've
already met wonderful ladies and really fabulous dealers. My open date
is March 1st, or before, if we are ready!
Today
I'm giving you a peek at the things sprawled out over my formal dining
room table. I'm sparing you a glimpse at our garage. Looks like a shop
all it's own!!! My space will be full and ready to go on opening day!
Lots of sweet, vintage picture frames, chicken wire baskets, hand painted roses, signs, pillows and so much more!
On
Saturday, after a long afternoon of prep work, we came home so I could
work on new shop tags and other vintage graphic and ephemera designs.
To my horror we found my trusty (and costly) printer decided she'd
printed her last copy after being filled with $100 worth of ink. I
suppose she wanted to go to printer-heaven or something. UGH!
Anyway...Sunday afternoon I purchased a new one and my Mr. AGPMan spent
several hours installing it and then calibrating it to match my previous
printer's colors. WHAT A JOB!
Do
you know what this is? Remember those over-the-door accent pieces that
had a large J HOOK hanging down from the scalloped edge? They were
wreath holders. Well...I found one at the thrift store and decided to
change it up. No wreath will hang from it~just plan on accenting one of
the vintage doors in my booth with it! LOVE IT!
It's
this a fabulous little tray? My mother bought it about twenty years
ago and had it stripped down. It had been painted a bright green and
she once had plans to refashion it for her home. When she moved last
summer to her new place she gave it to me. First thing I did was
repaint it. Not sure if I'll paint roses on the top or do a graphic
transfer. Something sweet for sure...
I love it when I find old (or newer) mail sorters...and mirrors!
Love wire baskets filled with vintage paper shreds!
Found this wonderful vintage lap desk (the pink one) at a local sale last year...I'm keeping this one as-is!
A
vintage image was manipulated and PARIS was added before being
self-printed and attached to an old kitchen sign. I loved it so much I
used both signs I found (ugly 1970's humor) and made them the same way!
I love this scrolly piece and I can't wait to paint roses on it with some sweet sentiment...
Here
are a couple of pillows I made for my couch... I love the vintage lace
and simple white cotton used for the body of the pillows and the
ruffle. These pillows, or some like them, are a must for my new space!
Remember these? This is an old Home Interiors Votive Candle Holder. I love it repainted, glazed and distressed.
I still love to paint and now that my hands are healing up from my carpal tunnel surgery on 12/28 I'm looking forward to getting back to one of my first loves!
I didn't take pics of the booth transformation process. Just didn't have the energy. But I do plan on snapping a few photos as the wood flooring goes down.
Hope you are looking forward to a wonderful new week...
Love to you...

Rebecca I can't believe you're moving into Serendipity and I don't live there any more! Everybody will love your stuff. It's a fun place to shop. :)
Oh Stacey...I wish you still lived here! Moving into Serendipity is soooo exciting! I've wanted to be there for so long now! If you ever come back and visit be sure to come by. OK? Hope you are happy in Texas!!! xo Rebecca
Dear Sweet Rebecca,
Wishing you much success in your new booth space. I know what you mean about finding just the right fit for your merchandise, I cant't seem to find an Antique - Flea Mall in my area that is quite my style. I am concentrating on Etsy these days until I can locate just the right fit for me.
Have a wonderful week.
Hugz, Carol
Wow! There are a lot of pretties in your house! And I'm betting your garage would be FUN to see, no matter what you think it looks like! Your brain must be going 125 mph ALL the time--do you ever sleep? Still think I should visit the shops you find all the good stuff in--and I call them junk shops no matter the organization that "owns" them! Maybe the next time I go to town, I'll be inspired to shop again.♥♫
Oh my, I can't wait to see the booth! I just wanna shop there:) Love all of your pretties! Have a blessed day, HUGS!
You have been really busy and with hands that are still healing, I wish I had that kind of energy! I know your booth will be filled with lots of wonderful things and I wish you great success in your new adventure!
Hi Rebecca,
You are going to shine in your new location, I just know it! I am so happy for you, you have worked so hard. I love your pillows they are so pretty and I bet they look great on your sofa and will be a big hit.
One day I hope to travel to Oklahoma and when I do I will be stopping by Serendipity.
Have a sweet day and Happy Valentine Week to you and Mr. GPA Man.

Love all your finds and would love to shop at your booth when it is ready! It would be so hard to part with all the pretties if I were you but I know you can't keep it all!

I am drooling over every little thing! Oh...I am so excited for you! Someday I want to have a booth, but not in our little town. I'll have to travel I guess...sigh! In the meantime, I'll live vicariously through you.
