~VINTAGE MILLINERY BLOOMS~ SOFTLY FADING

FRESHLY MADE MILLINERY SACHET HANGERS

One of the greatest joys I have comes from the making of handmade pretties. Aside from my love of painting PINK ROSES, I simply love working with fine old laces, linens, charming vintage ribbons, buttons and the ever lovely, (and getting harder to find), vintage millinery flowers and blooms. Creating new works of art from snippets of the past just seems to call out to me… Repurposing old finds has easily become my passion. I just can’t resist the allure of an old keepsake I know was once dearly loved.

I do a lot of shopping, but I spend a lot of time looking, too! Boy am I picky and more often than not I’ve found one must wade through a lot of JUNQUE before uncovering the perfect treasure! If I stumble upon vintage goodies, such as these, at estate sales, tag sales, thrift stores (yeah, I’m dreaming here!) or even antique shoppes, more than likely most of the highly sought after Lots come home with me...
PART OF MY VINTAGE FLOWER COLLECTION

With Easter and Mother’s Day on the horizon I’ve spent many hours making Sachet Pillows and decorative Hangers for gift giving. I’ve included a picture of the latest pretties that will be listed on my website later today…

Why not try your hand at fashioning a Sachet for your own Momma (don’t forget that loving MIL), sister or friend? They aren’t nearly as difficult as they may seem and are gifts that will last for years and years to come. Those you love will greatly appreciate the effort and time spent creating something with your own hands!

Blessings to you as you seek to uncover your own passion…Rebecca

Rebecca~~Enjoyed the picture of the beautiful sachets you have just made...I want to share something with you. As you know, I have been trying to update my blog and put items up that I really love and kind of "just get started". Some of the items I wanted to put on are "things" that I like and "items" that just bring me pure enjoyment. Millinery flowers (or fleurs) are one of the items I had in the back of my mind to upload a picture of. I have collected the most gorgeous samplings of different ones, but they are packed in my bins while we are painting and carpeting for now. There was no way of you knowing that and then I see your post for today! Wow, are we on the same wavelength.
Anyway...I thought I'd share that little tidbit with you...yes, God is good and I am so thankful He is in my life. Many hugs to you my sweet friend...Mary

PS~I will still upload later after I unpack those beautiful fleurs...

Rebecca, as always your sachets are devine. It is so funny to me that I found this post by you at the end of an arduous day. Such soft femininity to lure my eyes to lighter side of being a woman. My ventures today will be on my own blog later tonight but suffice, we busted our tails today. I really enjoyed coming for a visit and seeing this. BEAUTIFUL my dear lady. Just beautiful.

Dear Rebecca,
I received my sachet pillow from you, yesterday. It is the most beautiful, perfectly detailed, sachet pillow that I have ever seen! It smells wonderful too! I just love it and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I was not having a very good day at work and when I went on my lunch hour, I went to the post office to pick it up. I could not wait to open it! It is so beautiful! It really made my day! You made my day! I went back to work all happy inside! Thank you so much, I will keep it forever!

Love,
Lee Laurie

Oh, I'm those are beautiful. I'm working on a heartshaped sachet for the bride I was sewing for last week...using snippets of lace and fabric from her dress and the bridesmaids. I'm having trouble getting the heart to shape out like I want it too though. I love the cabinet you purchased for your landing! xo rachel
