~O' CHRISTMAS TREE - Where Art Thou?~

~OUR MINI TREE~
(sits sweetly on a little table)

I'm not sure what's happened to me over the past couple of days!  I just haven't been able to get my blog-thinkin'-head in gear!  For the past 48 hours I've kept saying over and over "C'mon Rebecca!  Get your pink on!!!  What's the matter with you, girl???" but it just didn't work!  I'm thinking I've had one of my mini-strokes or something!

I'm just sayin'...............................

Anyway...Happy December to you!!! :)
Are you ready for the Season of Light?
 ~OUR NEW 'PAINTED' CHRISTMAS TREE~
("if not for the MIRACLE she'd just be a tree!")

I hate to keep harping on the simple fact that my Mr. AGPMan's schooling is taking him away from ALL THE WORK FUN AROUND HERE, but 'tis true- tis true!  So...this year (for the first time in about, um, well...a LONG LONG LONG TIME!) I did almost all the decorating alone.  Except for my guy hauling down stuff from the attic and assembling the Trees I somehow managed to get our Christmas decorations up by myself.  All is now calm and, except for a few burned out bulbs (which I can't figure out HOW to fix), all is bright!

Life is good.
~JOY TO THE WORLD THE LORD IS COME~

Every Christmas we've lived in our La Chaumière de Briarwood (19 years) we've had clear twinkle lights outside.  Not only have they graced the outside of our home but they were wrapped around the tree-trunks and dangled from the branches, too!  Given all my hubster has had on his plate for 2011 I didn't even dare say a word about him putting them up this year.  It's funny how some stuff just doesn't seem very important in the grand scheme of things when you find you're just happy to have a little bit of alone time with the one you love.  Even though I'm missing something I've enjoyed for years it's actually been easy to put what really matters in place...
~PINK ROSES~
(of course!)

I'll be showing you more of our home over the next few days.  With the addition of our French Doors and the removal of our old back door some things have changed on the inside.  At some point during the season our old ceramic tile is coming up and plans are being made to open up the wall between our dining room and family room before our new wood floors are installed.  We aren't 100% sure on how we are going to do it (it's a load-bearing wall so we have to have help!) but surely we will find a way...  I'm soooo glad now the wood flooring we picked out in the Fall was delayed!  Some things work out better than you think they are going to~

I'll be visiting around this weekend to see what you are all up to...

Happy Friday!

Love to you...

How beautiful your trees and decorations are. I just love how you decorate everything so pretty.
I won't tell you that I have not even decorated the first thing yet. Way way behind this year.
Wanted to say hello and to tell you I am having a long over due giveaway and I hope you can enter.

Oh goodness...lovely tree! Our honeys are just not all that into the decorating, but bless them, they try because they know it's a blessing to us! But...amazing how life reorganizes our priorities sometimes. Knowing you everything will be gorgeous anyway! I'd better get going...I'm behind pulling together my pink post!
Blessings on you and your home!

Dearest Rebecca,

Yeah, you CERTAINLY had a stroke of GENIUS! Ha-ha, what a pink dream you're showing us here. Why play it down for not being able to put together a post? You're far better than a lot of us together!
Rest well and enjoy your hard work. Indeed, the delay of the wood floors worked out well; but that is always hind sight and we all tend to act so impatient if we want something done.
Love to you,

Mariette

PS I did fluff back now almost fully, the nasty cough left me!

For some reason I was a bit reluctant to push the outdoor decorating..but mostly because I an not fond of seeing Patient Husband up on ladders at his age.
Your tree's are something I DREAM of being able to do. I think that folks that have the talent to put things together become unaware of the longing all us others out here have to be able to do the same thing.

One thing about you, Rebecca, is that you learned early on what you REALLY liked..while I, at 75, have not clue. I love the deep rich colors..AND I love the pale, sweet pastels that you have. I rather have both to some extent..
When I see the dark colors..I think..Ahhh...and then I see the sweet pale pinks and greens..
:) S'ok. I'll just hang out here and look at your beautiful home. Please, please post more photo's from far back so we can get the entire scope.
Happy December to you too.
I know it's difficult to be without your AG man...but..he always comes home to you.
Love,
Mona

Hey, Rebecca! I do ALL the decorating (inside and out) EVERY year! With my hubbin's...um...taste level...I'm not letting him anywhere NEAR my decorations!

We removed a load-bearing wall between our kitchen and family room. We had to insert a pretty heavy-duty beam up there (hidden by the trim and drywall)...and we added a couple of wood columns at the sides to add more support and dress things up. It looks really nice...and Mike did the work himself...so it IS possible.

Your tree is beyond lovely. I agree with Mona. You've found what you truly love and you stick with it. Me...I like so many different things...I find it difficult to "pick a lane."

Hi Rebecca, I can't understand what you are talking about because the tree is simply beautiful. I can't wait to see your home decorated. You have such a delightful way with decorating. As we age, I'm starting to see just how difficult it is for my hubby to carry the box with the tree upstairs from the basement.
I can't wait to see how remodeling. Have a blessed day and weekend.

Rebecca...I was so excited to see that you had stopped by to "catch up" with me. That's what girlfriends do!

I love to come to your peaceful blog when the world gets a little crazy...and just "relax" and feel rested with all of the soothing pink adornments...and your beautiful soft music playing! Thank you for this little piece of heaven on earth!

How exciting to be sprucing up the La Chaumie're De Briarwood! Can't wait to see all of the work you have done...and all that is in the planning stages.

I always wanted to take out a wall in our last house where we lived for nearly twenty years...but we moved instead. Too much work for us "older folk"!!! (:>) You still have energy and dreams to fulfill...and youthfulness on your side...so I say go for it girl! (wink)

We went to see "The Story" last night, as it opened in Wichita and will be touring the country. Many Christian singers and also Max Lucado! Loved it...and what a way to start off the Christmas season.

I need to decorate now and wrap all of the presents. Maybe I will get a start on that today! You have inspired me, as always.

Love, Linda

Your trees look beautiful Rebecca! I never did get my tree painted...maybe next year. I was not feeling well this week and I have out of state company coming in 2 weeks so I was good just to get the tree up and decorated. I still have more room decorating to do. Even the outside still has not been finished yet. That's ok though. Enjoy your time with your husband when you can! ~Hugs, Patti

So very beautiful Rebecca, and I am proud of you doing it all yourself!... I just LOVE your miniature tree!... and you are so right, I must always remember what is truly important... thank you so much for your prayers last night... things have calmed down this morning, just the massive cleanup, and I am heading to check on my family's gravesites as they said the cemetery was in terrible disarray from all of the uprooted 100 year old trees... xoxo Julie Marie

Did you forget that "harps" make beautiful noise? Wally's favorite holiday was Easter, but he would help cook at Christmas time. I do miss his annoying messes in the kitchen. He's probably talking God's ear off right now.

Your trees look so nice. I can't wait to see more of your home.♥♫
