For the past several days I've been working on repainting it for use in my studio. I'm loving how it came out and all the storage it gives me for old laces and ribbons.
Early last month I moved the child's size armoire out of my workshop for use in my booth space (Edmond Antiques). That left me really needing something to hold all my vintage trims.
Gotta LOVE Craigslist!
I first primed the cabinet with Zinsser Bonding Primer before giving it two good coats of satin paint by Behr (Home Depot/Soft White). I love this paint as it's not too yellow and not too bright! Then I sanded it down with my electric orbital sander! Gentle distressing with sand paper and a bit of aging with AS dark wax before AS clear wax was applied to the entire piece!
I love having everything OUT so I can see what I'm looking for!
Vintage laces, ribbons and trims...yummmmmmmmmmmmeeeee!
Old pastelle ribbon makes me swoon....
Can't let the day pass without mentioning the 11th anniversary of the tragedy of 9-11. Today we remember those innocent people who lost their lives that day and the brave men and women who fought to save them.
~WE REMEMBER~
Praying today for peace for those left behind.

Love to you...

That' s so pretty, Rebecca! (I abstained from using the word dreamy again, even though it is a better description:p)
Truly gorgeous my friend, and LOVE seeing all those yummy vintage laces and ribbons!!
It looks great, Rebecca! It seems like it is working perfectly to hold your laces and trims, yet it is just so pretty to look at it all. I'll bet the drawers are coming in handy, too. You got such a good deal for $50.00.
Look how beautifully that turned out,Rebecca! I knew it would. It is just perfect for the way you are using it, too.
Sad day for all of us- xo Diana
Great job on the remake--love all your treasures inside it now:)
Remembering this day also with a prayer for all. Rebecca, I love what you did with this piece. I wish I had your talent. I also loved the candy wrappers you did. Are you going to sell these on Esty? I don't need the candy as I can get them, but would love the wrappers for my quilting class...thanks for a great blog..vera
Such a perfect piece to hold all of your lovely supplies Rebecca. I love how it came out. What a feeling of satisfaction it must give you to re-do these pieces and give them new life and new purpose!
Love, Linda
I love it! You did a great job with it and I love how you are using it.
I hope to begin painting mine soon and I may put mine in my sewing room to store my pretties.
Do you have the chair that goes with it? It is cute too!
Hugs,
Donna
Dearest Rebecca,
Funny but this French Provincial cabinet has a hue of blue on these photos... But I do know that it is awfully hard to capture true colors on photo for a blog!!!
You gave it right away a heavy duty function; it is loaded!
Looks fabulous and I bet you're on cloud nine with it.
Sad day indeed... and may God bless the many families that were left with a tremendous scar and may He also bless our nation and bring us all together and closer to our heavenly Father!
Hugs,
Mariette
You did a wondeful job at fixing and decorating the desk. Really beautiful!
We do remember, hard to believe 11 years have passed! What a great piece of furniture and great storage!

Fabulous photos of your fabulous find...I love it!
WOW Miss R this came out amazing! You are such a talented one! Everything you touch turns to beauty! I have a dresser that belonged to my mother I want to paint white. I got as far as buying the paint two weeks ago. :( Maybe after seeing your beautiful piece it will motivate me. Did you spray paint the hardware? I like the hardware on my dresser but I don't want to leave it antique brass.
Swoon! LOOOOOVE it! Great job, Rebecca!
I almost won a free vintage pink fridge off of craiglslist the other day but the guy gave it to someone else before I could get there! :(
