Ever have one of those MOMENTS when you get hit up side the head with a little bitty PEBBLE but you find yourself ignoring it? You know what I'm talking about, right? That feeling you get in the pit of your stomach that says "STOP! STOP RIGHT NOW! You're about to get involved in something (or with someone) that isn't good!"
You decide to ignore that God anointed feeling and then, just when you THINK you are safe and all is well, you get a little bit bigger ROCK slamming right into your forehead! AGAIN it says "You've been WARNED! STOP! You're about to make a biggggg mistake!" And even though you sorta question just WHAT you are about to do, you start dismissing that inner voice again... You may even say "OUCH" out loud and yet you still aren't convinced anything is amiss?
Now...if that isn't bad enough, you continue to believe that STILL-SMALL-VOICE is mistaken! Even though you're pinned up against the wall by a humongous BOULDER and you feel pressure all around, you still question the validity of the feelings deep within your soul?
Have you ever ignored your natural wisdom to the point that an entire MOUNTAINSIDE crashed in on you?
Well my friends that's been me. Last summer I was gently WARNED by my own heart to turn away from what I KNEW was not a wise path. But unfortunately I decided to take it anyway. Now...here I am 9 months later wishing I'd paid attention to that first tiny pebble. It would have saved me and my Mr. AGPMan a lot of grief if I'd just trusted my own intuition.
I'm not going to go into what happened to me because at this point it's not critical to my story. God is fair and in the end He is Just.
What IS important is this....That voice of warning was put inside of all of us for a reason. Pay attention to it. Your life will be sooo much sweeter (and a lot less painful) if you do.
Blessings for a sweet "I'M LISTENING TO MY HEART" kind of day...
PS: Get a written contract! :)

Hi Rebecca!
LOL! I know exactly what you are talking about! It has happened so many times in my life! :) More so when I was younger than now...but, oh, I occasionally still push away the soft nudges from the Lord. Happened just yesterday in fact...consequences are not enjoyable! I spoke when I shouldn't have...felt the Lord speaking to me to clamp my mouth shut. I ended up making a mess of things that would never have happened if I had listened! All is well and worked out...by why didn't I listen?? :) Makes me think of an old song my daughters and I used to sing together when they were little..."Obedience is the Very Best Way to Show that You Believe"
Hugs, Carolyn
Hi Rebecca

Oh sweet Rebecca ~
Yes I do know exactly what you mean ~ Sometimes I even ignore it when it is loud and clear ~ why do I think that my way is better sometimes ~
Thank you Lord for your still small voice and sometimes the one that is very loud and clear ~
xoxo

Hi Rebecca,
I have made decisions or got involved in certain things that just "didn't feel right." And, like you, I would argue with myself that I could just be wrong.
So, I take the chance and WHAMO, head slap!
I know exactly what you are talking about. Oh well, just learn from our experiences I suppose and learn to listen carefully to our inner voice.
Don't beat yourself up too bad, it will all fade away soon.
hugs dear friend,
Sissie
How many times have we NOT listened to our hearts? God gave us that ability and we should use it. Sorry you got bit!
You are so right, Rebecca. That little voice is there for a reason - even if we don't want to hear it sometimes. I hope your situation all works itself out.
So sorry you were hit with a boulder to give us a lesson. I hope all works out well for you.
Your pebble, rock, boulder is my signs and they come in many ways, and if you do not pay attention to them they go away. So yes, pay attention to your inner self, it knows.
Oh Yes, For sure Rebecca..I've heard the small voice of reason many-many times in my life. And Yes, I know that I know, who is speaking to my heart in those times.
I too, have chosen the incorrect path on occasion. And lived to regret it. We can hear, but we also can ignore. I can tell you that when I do choose to ignore, it's generally because I'm trying to put aside that some people just refuse to be good and loving spirits. I somehow think if I can bring all my love to their heart, and show them kindness they might never have known, they will somehow change.
It gets very complicated. Even while trying to take the Godly-Path, our Lord can try and redirect you simply because He has already planned to send another in your place. He knows our limitations better than we can ever know them ourselves.
Blessings, Love and Thursday Sunshine, Terri
I know exactly what you mean. We have to go through things I guess to learn lifes lessons. Have a wonderful day sweet ~R~.

So sorry, sweet Rebecca, that this has happened to you. I don't know what happened, but I know you have been let down - people will let us down (sometimes I wonder how some can lay their head down in peace at night), but our heavenly Father is always dependable isn't He? Blessings to you!
Oh Rebecca... you are so wise... I always listen to my little voice too, and most times do what I hear... I know what you mean though about Not listening, and wondering why we didn't? I do hope all is well... I am anxious to see more of your beautiful photos from your visit with your sister... love to you.. xoxo Julie Marie
Such a true statement Rebecca!! And I know we have all done this before!! I know I sure have!! I hope everything is okay!!
Love ya,
Amy
I definitely know what you mean.
Like I told my kids time and time again.... if you do not follow what your intuition is telling you then you will be in trouble! This never fails!
Rebecca,
I feel your pain. I went through a very painful experience one year ago with a business I started in which I brought in 'two friends'. I had to walk away. I did not want to...all my ideas and all my creativity and all my hard work.
I could not understand it all at the time, but God had put me on a path to lead to my real journey. It's taken me one year to find myself again, feel okay, and discover that business was not my true purpose.
You are very talented and will find your way again.
Sending you country blessings,
Cindy
You're jesting, right, sweetepea?! Still small voice??? Who? ME???? I can't even count that high how many times I've failed to listen and been whacked upside the head, chick! Of course, there are those times I DO listen and am saved from many a disaster. I KNOW I'm being protected by that Spirit because I pray every day for protection, but still I have "messed up" badly as Love Bunny has recently told me. He said, "Go listen to Elder Uchtdorf's talk on Patience." I did and I was humbled. If you want to listen to it let me know and I'll send you the URL. It's wonderful.
xoxo,
Connie
Been there, done that! OUCH is right! Thank God for His mercy.
GETTING INVOLVED IS SOMETHING WE ALL TEND TO DO FOR ONE GOOD REASON AFTER ANOTHER. SOME LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES AND SOME TAKE A LITTLE LONGER. EACH TIME SOMETHING COMES UP, IT'S NEW AND SO YOU HAVE TO TRUST YOURSELF. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME AND PROBABLY WILL NOT BE THE LAST.....ONE CAN ONLY PRAY FOR A BIGGER STONE UPSIDE THE HEAD. WE HAVE ALL BEEN THERE SWEETIE. I TRY AND THINK TWICE NOW ABOUT ANTTHING THAT DOES NOT CONCERN ME, BUTS ITS NOT ALWAY EASY. THIS TOO SHALL PASS, CHAR
I love your post on your grandma. Very good advice. I wrote it down so it doesn't get away. I also like the one about your feelings telling you not to do something. Isn't that marvelous? I mean, it's absolutely amazing that we are blessed with that. Diane
I think we have all ignored the pebble, but I guess thats how we learn, from our mistakes...I hope everything turns out ok!!!
Oh Rebecca, I'm so sorry you all are being tested this way. It isn't a good feeling.
Your strong faith will get you through it though.... You're so thoughtful to share with us, because each of us needs a reminder to stop and listen.
I've been there and done that.....and I'm sure I'll probably ignore or think I know better again at some point.
With thoughts and prayers to you!
Well said and so true! The Lord does try, doesn't He? and we can't blame Him when we don't His warnings and negative or even terrible things happen.
Thanks for this post!
By the way, I just discovered your blog here today. Looks good and I'm looking forward to reading more.
HELLO SWEET REBECCA, OHHH BOY ONE OF THOSE DAYS, OHHHH YES I HAVE HAD THOSE DAYS, BUT I HOPE EVERYTHING TURNED OUT WELL IN THE END FOR YOU SWEETIE, AND THAT ITS NOT TO PAINFULL FOR YOUR SWEET SHOULDERS TO BEAR!!!! WISHING YOU PEACE OF MIND AND SOUL SWEET FRIEND :)
Thank you for your words of wisdom...hope whatever happened ends up ok:)
Oh boy, do I know what you mean! I learned that lesson the hard way as well. My uncle always said, "follow your gut feeling and you'll never go wrong". He didn't even know where that "gut feeling came from", but knew to listen to is. As believers, we know where it comes from and God gives us plenty of warnings. Good post.
Oh, Rebecca! I understand exactly what you're saying. Boy, do I ever! So sorry you ran into a rock. I hope and pray all is right now.
Checking in from my break. I hope to be posting again soon if my workmen cooperate. Let's hope!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Rebecca, don't you love that God is so gentle!
Yes I too at times... have ignored God's warnings. Mostly my conscience pays for it later.
I have been there also,,, and like you in the end the Lord is there to help guide me back to my path... so when my little voice is talking,, well I do listen more... God Bless;
Hugs;
Alaura
so thankful for grace...for you and for me! Best wishes for your opening tomorrow...I'll be checking you out!
