BEAUTIFUL OLD KEEPSAKE
Marriage Record &
Shopping (aka: junkin', slummin' and antiquing) last week in beautiful Tennessee proved to be more exciting than I have words to say. And, when you get to do it with you big sister it makes hunting for fabulous old finds all the more special.
Last week Lin and I visited a truly
ramshackled beautiful dive shoppe close to the center of old downtown Dickson and it made my spirit soar. Filled from top to bottom with 2die4 stuff, it was there I found this charming 100 year old keepsake book that originally came from the great state of Michigan.
(Has anyone from Michigan EVER seen a book like this???)
EXACTLY 100 YEARS OLD
Now, I'm a wheeler-dealer! Still, I don't mind or COMPLAIN about paying my hard-earned money for things that are wonderful! Even so, I nearly fainted when I saw the price tag inside the book's cover...which said: $25.00!
And sooooo (while trying to be a tad bit coy) I
aggressively casually asked the owner "How much for this book?"
Fully expecting him to quote the $25.00 price, my heart skipped a beat when he said
The book, intended to solicit business from newlyweds, is filled with amazing graphics! I'm mesmerized by them as they will be perfect for lots of altered art paper goods for my Shoppe.
I love seeing the original pictures and graphics of furniture and vintage finds I eagerly search for today.
Isn't this bride beautiful?
I think this graphic is fabulous!
I've been hunting for a drawing of old high-top shoes for sooo long!
And aging Chandy's too!
Gosh...CREDIT ACCOUNTS were pushed back then as well...
This is an advertiement for a beauty shop! Boy have things changed!
A $100 down-payment was all you needed to secure this charming home!
Last but not least I found over 100 scrumptious sounding recipes tucked inside the book as a little bonus! Man...we only THINK we use a lot of butter (LARD!) today...
I plan on scanning some of the best images in the book sometime next week! I'll be offering many of them here on my blog so you, too, can enjoy using them in your projects!
Now...about my Website opening. I originally hoped to reopen the Site tomorrow but I'm going to push it back at least one week! :( I'm behind (gosh...wonder why!?) in snapping pictures of product and uploading them to the site. Presently I have over 100 items for your shopping/viewing enjoyment and it is taking longer than I expected to get everything done! Plus, some of the fabulous things I found on my trip to Tennessee are dying to be included! Thank you for being patient with me!
Blessings to you as you enjoy this gorgeous Spring day...
