~HERE'S A ROSE FOR YOU...No Hydrangeas Can Be Found~

~A ROSE FOR YOU~

First...thank you for all the HYDRANGEA DRYING TIPS you sent my way yesterday and for putting up with my drama-filled muse! :)  Most of you who commented agreed on one of two ways I might successfully preserve my beautiful blooms!  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!  I will keep you posted on how I do!

I took a peek outside at my backyard garden yesterday evening and I'm not sure I'll have another chance to even TRY using any of your TIPS this year.  Presently both my bushes (even though they DO have the right amounts of sun and shade) don't APPEAR to have survived the ravages of our Oklahoma heatwave...  I'm hoping they will resurrect themselves in the Spring...we'll see!
~Caching!  Caching!~

I'll be sure to save my $$$ in one of these sweet little piggies just in case they don't make it!  Those two Hydrangea Bushes set me back a whopping fifty buckaroos and that's enough to make even the greenyiest of green thumbs want to toss out their trusty spade... :)

Now...sorry for the short POST for today but I'm enjoying being BACK in my studio where I'm finishing up several of the painted pretties I started many moons ago...

Oh...time is slipping by and that GIVEAWAY I'm having is going to be ending soon!  If you haven't gotten your name entered for a chance to win a couple of sweet things then just click HERE for the details!

Tick-tock!  Tick-tock!

I'm smiling for the weekend cometh!

Love to you~

Hi Rebecca! I hope that at least one of those tips works for you. I feel for you. It's so sad to see plants and bushes that were once lush and beautiful suddenly wilt and look tired and sickly. It breaks my heart...But I think that maybe..just maybe your hydrangeas might perk up a bit come cooler weather. Hot humid weather really stresses them out despite all the water they need. We'll just keep our fingers crossed, ok? :)

Blessings to you too, friend! Have a great day!

Oh, and I just adore "As the Deer" on your blog. So pretty....

Rebecca, I want you to see my Big Lots $15.00 rooster that I painted and added a PINK bow on. You and Tea certainly came to mind when I did that!

He was the most awful brown, yucky color. Acccccckkkkk. The miracle of paint.

Don't tell a soul, but I think I am going to paint tiny pink rosebuds on his tail.

Sending joy!!!!!

Rebecca, did you know that if you strip a stem of your hydrangea bush while it's still on the plant, lay it on the earth and weight down the top, each of the little dents will root, giving you more plants. No need to spend any more money. You can let them stay in the ground and grow their roots, trimming and transplanting later. Just a thought. Good luck my friend, Char

Hi sweetie...I missed your plea for help in drying hydrangeas. I cut mine after they have been on the bush awhile (like about ten days)...if you cut too soon they will often wilt. Then when you cut them, place them in a vase with a small amount of water and by the time it is gone, they will be dry. I don't know if in a climate with high humidity it works the same however. I do love the ones you dried though. Sometimes I cut them as soon as they open, just to get this effect.

Hi Rebecca,
make sure you water your hydrangeas as much as you can, they are very strong plants and even when cut back completely they come back.
I love your pinks and your piggies.
I ran into a gorgeous huge piggy from Italy yesterday in a well fare second hand shop (with MANY teacups) and it just winked at me: take me along! So I did ... and everyone present in the shop admired him/her.
Enjoy your weekend!

PS
Don't throw your plants out!
Just cut away the dry flowers up until you see two thick buds somewhere lower on the stem.
Success!
The same happens here when the sun is too hot, you really have to hose them then every day (which I do not, so I end up having a few like yours just the same).

Love those little piggies! Hope your hydrangeas come back next year... they probably will. Just mulch over where they are for winter time! Have a blessed day my friend! HUGS!
