~LET THE DECORATING BEGIN...and Boy Do I LOVE Shabby Pink~

OUR VINTAGE CHINA HUTCH
(Romantic and Sooo Sweet)

Are you freaking out yet that it is November 30th?  Will it upset you if I say you now have 25 shopping days left until Christmas?
Sounds utterly commercial...doesn't it?
Sorry!
 ~SOFT PINKS AND CREAMS~
(Nothing Finer)

I decided earlier this year that I was not going to stress out during the Holidays.  Truth be told, I don't usually lose my focus during the months of November and December.  I generally save up all my 'flip-out days' for January! :)  :)
How's that for a little "TMI?"  :) :) :)
 ~LA BELLE PETITE MAISON~
(A Change From Last Year)

Like many of you I love to decorate for Christmas.  I've over-bought  collected a lot of junk beautiful things over the years  and sometimes I forget about just what I have until I un-crate it the following year.  I'm always amazed at what I find.  Plus...I'm one of those die-hard buyers  who stalk the stores after Christmas looking for 90% off bargains.  Last year I bought scads of glittery gold holly berries and branches for 95% off...oh...and that spray snow stuff, too!  Tomorrow I'm going to show you what I bought last year for this year!  Some fab finds on the cheap!

Now...see that Sign above the Hutch in the photo above?  I debated for a long time just WHAT to paint on it.  I almost went with a Christmas theme...but in the end decided to continue being my predictable self and paint something I could use all year long.  I love it!  Absolutely fits the space!  And...no roses!  Sometimes (many times) less is more!  Definitely is here if you ask me!
~SOFT PALETTE~
(Soothes The Eye)

Anyway...I've started later than usual decorating for Christmas so last night I hit things pretty hard.  I finished putting the final touches on our vintage china hutch and I'm lovin' her this year so much more than last year
~VINTAGE POSTCARD REPRODUCTION~
(Watch Tomorrow for Some Neat Freebies)

Seems I'm forever moving things around and changing things up!  Since we are putting our Christmas Tree in a different spot this year I've had to do some 'creative thinkin'!"  I have two really pretty trees and I've always loved placing one of them in the window at the front of the house.  But...we turned that room (it was once our formal living room) into a formal dining earlier this year and so that has messed me up just a bit!
~VINTAGE PINK ROSES CHINA~
(And New Frosty Pink Ornaments)
~MY SORORITY STOCKING~

I'm back in the studio today working on some painted pretties and a couple of new pillows but later this evening I'll begin decorating our Mantel.  I'm saving our two Christmas Trees for last because my Miss K wants to come and help me!  On December 1st last year I had everything already done!  Ugh!

Tomorrow I'll be sharing with you some vintage images that are certain to make GREAT "To:/From:" Tags.  If I get more of our Christmas decorating finished I'll be sharing that as well!

Blessings to you for an absolutely awesome Tuesday!

Love to you...

Hi Rebecca,
I love your soft pink and cream colour scheme! It is just dreamy and so appealing to the eye! I am decorating with a lot of pink too but it's not as subdued as yours. I like yours better actually but I am making do with what I have. Here where I live it is not always easy to find pink. Michaels carried a lot of pink ribbon this year but no pink Christmas balls, only the more expensive glass ones which I would rather not glue into a wreath. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day.

Blessings,
Sandi

My Tree is up and decorated but between unpacking here at the New store, creating and of course breathing when I can, the rest of the House will be done soon. Minute by minute. Your hutch is decorated SO lovely! I just love, love the pink.It makes me wish that I could have it in my home. I don't have the right style of house to do this color. But I always drool when I see yours and am so thankful that you share!
I'm still decorating too. Usually I'm finished and mailing out Christmas cards by Dec. 1st! Won't do any good to stress, will it?
Have a great week and enjoy your decorating with Miss K.

Looking over the pictures of your BEAUTIFUL, as always, home all decked
out for the holidays was such a pleasure...everything is gorgeous!!
Alas, my tree stands NAKED in the living room, and boxes surround it and any other place they can find..
after the trip to the attic to bring down my own "treasures", I needed to rest up the next two days from pain...but I am getting busy today and hope to finish up by the weekend. Two of my longest=time best friends are coming Thursday to have lunch and help me decorate..should be fun!!
Keep posting the wonderful shots of your lovely home...they insire me to grin past the pain and do my own!!
Hugs to you, sweet friend. Francy

Don't know how I got posted twice above! Anyway, the hutch in my picture is cherry wood and it was my mother's. The dining room table is a match to it.

Rebecca,
Your home is divine!!! I am just starting to decorate...my frustration is where on earth do I put the "regular" things to make room the for Christmas things???
Any suggestions?
Hmmm, I might have to find something pink to go with the box you gave Brenna and jazz it up for the holidays!

Hi Rebecca :) Oh my, your home looks simply pinkalicous with what you've done so far with your holiday decorating...just GORGEOUS!! Can't wait to see pics of other areas of your beautiful home you will have decorated :)

I put our main tree up in our Dining room Friday night, and all decorated, and have my smaller pink tabletop tree in our Living room, plus another tabletop tree displayed on the mantle in there. Those are the 2 rooms I do most of the Christmas decorating in; not so much in the other rooms.

Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week!

Warmest hugs to you, Brenda

Me again...I forgot to tell you I am doing a "PINK CHRISTMAS" decorating
myself.....my husband would never go "nutz".......he is perfectly fine with all of my pink, encourages and compliments it, and says "If it makes YOU happy, I love it, too"!! Like I told you....he painted our front door "hot" pink for me this year!! Yes...he does have his OWN space...a huge room with bath over a double garage where he has his office and all of his models of his "TOYS"...and
I don't go up there and try to rearrange it!! Not that I would not like to.......
The only thing he has ever said he HOPED I would not do is paint all of our pretty wood furniture white. :0(
But I can live with that...!! The winning word was HOPE.....LOL
Hugs again...Francy

OH HOW BEAUTIFUL. I love anything shabby chic as long as I can incorporate it into a primitive look...I love anything PRIMITIVE as well.

Your photos are absolutely breath taking.

Blessings.

Hello sweet Rebecca. I am in awe of that hutch. It belongs in Romantic Homes magazine, seriously. I haven't been stressing too much over the Holidays this year, mostly because I know that my little bundle will be here shortly after. That gives me something to look forward to AFTER Christmas! I'm feeling okay, just getting very uncomfortable as the weeks go by. Please continue praying for us - there are still a lot of tests to be done. I'll keep you "posted"!
xoxo,
Kim
