~OLD IS NEW ONCE AGAIN~

 ~VINTAGE VICTORIA CHRISTMAS BOOKS~
1998-1999-2000-2001-2002

I had a little bit of down time over the weekend and decided to hunt down my vintage Victoria Christmas (Magazine) Books and retrieve them from their hiding place!  Even though I continue to hear the familiar sound of hammering (bang! bang! BANG!) from our on-going master bath remodel (YES!  It's STILL underway!) I was able to steal away a few moments and gather some inspiration while thumbing through all five of my now aging books...
~ORIGINALLY PURCHASED AT TJ MAXX for $3.99~

One of the things I loved most about the ORIGINAL Victoria Magazine was their timeless approach to decorating.  Long before Rachel and the Shabby Chic (TM) craze, the editors and decorators at Victoria successfully merged the old with the new...  I've been a huge fan of it ever since!

How about you?

~BEAUTIFUL WHITES CAN BE FOUND IN EVERY ISSUE~
~FABULOUS STOCKINGS~
~HUNG BY THE CHIMNEY WITH CARE~
 ~CREATING WITH ANTIQUE BUTTONS~
~WRAPPING WITH OLD BOOKS AND AGING BUTTONS~

You didn't think this idea was something new, did you?
 ~EMBELLISHED WITH VINTAGE KEYS~

How about this one?  Done before...and still breathtaking!

Timeless, classy and forever lovely!
~BEAUTIFUL HAT BOX DRESSED TO THE NINES~

 ~BERIBBONED DOOR WREATH~

 ~FILLED WITH WHITE PRETTIES~

This old china cabinet reminds me of the one I have minus the scrolly accents!
 ~CHAIRS WITH WHITE LINEN FLOUNCES~

Earlier this year I bragged about making new chair skirts for my dining room chairs.  I knew this idea had been around for a long time...just wondering what TOOK ME SO LONG to get with the program...

Bah!  I'm always running late for the party...

 ~OLD CREAMWARE and VINTAGE MITTENS~
~THE DELIGHTS OF SOFT WHITE~

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas!

So...do share!
What will you be using for inspiration this year for your Christmas and Holiday decorating?
As you can tell I'm not looking too far from home...

Blessings for a lovely Monday!

Love to you...

Hi Rebecca, this is the perfect reason why it's good to save old favorite magazines and books, there is always some new inspirations to glean from the old! Everything is so lovely, XO Christie

Your Victoria Magazines have timeless ideas, I can see, and are "keepers" for inspiration. Sometimes for inspiration I see a photo on a blog or even in an ad. Today I saw an ad for a jingle bell wreath that I like.

I smiled when I saw the white Christmas tree. I have decorated my tree white and silver for many years...probably going on 10. My friend who comes and helps me now with it keeps saying I need to add a color to it....but my heart just loves my white billowy Christmas tree...I just can't change it.

I love all the pictures you displayed. I think I would like to do a Florida tree and decor with shells and southern stuff. You offer a lot of inspiration there. Take care.

Hi Rebecca,
I just LOVE the Victoria magazine too. I've saved mine over the years and I can always go back to them and never tire of it. The beautiful photos are just timeless.
We've moved to a new home this last February. And I'm still not sure what I will do for decorating at Christmas time. I'm so excited I can't wait. But I will look at my Victoria mags for inspiration.
Thanks for reminding me...now I will go dig them out!
Blessings,
Sonya

I have saved my old Victoria magazines too. I pull them out from to time to time and always see something that I missed.

Thank you for stopping by with the sweet words after my grandmother's passing.

Hey Sweetie!
So sorry I haven't been by to say Hi lately...you KNOW, life kinda gets in the way! lol Glad to hear that your dear girl is better! I prayed for her!!

I do LOVE my vintage VICTORIA's that I have from the late 80's and early 90's. I cannot part with them and I also separated the Christmas ones out to puruse through during the Holidays...I also did that with my older Romantic Homes too! They all have so much inspiration in them. Nothing is New under GOD's handywork huh?

Much love and hugs sent your way!

I am a sucker for all things Classic. You never get tired looking at them and wish I could even create them. Unfortunately lacking in skill.

I keep my favorite Christmas decorating magazines and books together and start pulling them out in December. I love the ones with classic style...if I add a hot item it's usually just in small doses but it seems I always return to a more traditional style that suits me.
