~~~~ROMANTIC CROCHET LACE BED SKIRT~~~~ Such An Incredible Estate Sale Find
 ~MY ROMANTIC HOME~
Our Tiny Master Bedroom
(all I ever dreamed of)
A couple of days ago I ranted and raved about all my 2DIE4 ESTATE SALE FINDS!  Remember?  If you missed it and all the fabuloso pics of my incredible TAG SALE HAUL you can click HERE to read more about it!
~QUEEN LACE-TRIMMED BED SKIRT~
(the deal of the day???)
For those of you who caught the post here's a little bitty update on the outcome of the old queen sized bed skirt (or dust ruffle)I snagged for a mere $5 bucks! :)
~SOAKING OUT THE OLD SIZING~
(and whatever ELSE was on it!)
On Saturday I spent most of the day finishing up some special orders for my A Gathering Place customers, but when evening came and my guy returned to focusing on his studies I got busy redoing some of my finds!  I decided to start with the bed skirt because I was actually a little curious about it's condition.  I'm not one to let a lot of time pass before I begin a makeover no matter how big or small.  When I do I always end up being "lost in the transformation".  I had only partially scanned the inside of the plastic bag at the tag sale because the lady assured me it was in great condition.
~FRESHLY SOAKED and DRIED~
 (ahh...fresh and clean!)
And it was...that is if you like dirt and filth.
(Which I don't).
~BEAUTIFULLY SET IN PLACE~
(loving the mix of laces)
So...after donning a pair of my trusty plastic gloves I filled my sink with the hottest water I could draw from the tap and added a couple of big scoops of OXY CLEAN.
(Probably more than I needed to use...)
~INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL and CHIC~
(layering adds such a romantic touch!)
 I soaked the skirt for several hours and then rinsed it clean.  I filled up my sink once again with fresh hot water and then added ONE TEASPOON (yes, a teaspoon) of bleach and allowed the skirt to soak for several more hours.  Then I added a 1/8th cup of TIDE and washed it gently by hand!
After air drying it I ironed it out and placed it over my existing dust ruffle.  Since the lace skirt is shorter it gave me a beautiful layered look that I absolutely love!
~MY FAVORITE BED PILLOW~
And that's it for today peeps!  Trusting you enjoyed hearing about my latest finds...
Hope your Monday is turning out awesome!
Love to you...
Your tiny master bedroom looks like a heaven on earth... you are so talented at taking the 'every day', and making it 'super special' and that's a talent I envy! If I come to your house will you take me shopping? I see junk and you see possibilities!!! I like it your way better but I have no talent for it...sad!
What a lovely lucky find you had! It is amazing what some oxy-clean and a little bleach will do. A good sunny day in the sun will erase some stains as well. The bedroom is beautiful!
Layering lace creates such a dreamy and feminine look. Great find on the bed skirt and I have learned to soak things in hot water and oxy clean too with amazing results.
Doesn't the heart just skip a beat or two when you come across that "perfect" treasure? The bedskirt is gorgeous and you did a fabuloso job bringing her back to life. It looks like it was made for your bed and only $5.00!!!. It doesn't get much better than that.
You are my treasure hunting idol! teeheehee.
P.S. I love, love, love your bed pillow. I have seen it before and commented how that one is my all time favorite!
