~FLEUR DE LIS CHICKEN WIRE MEMO BOARDS~

  First of all...I read yesterday on Karen Valentine's Blog (My Desert Cottage) that Blogger will be dropping the FOLLOWERS GADGET in early July (please visit Karen's updated post HERE to read how this information may not be accurate).  Please visit Karen to read more about how these changes might affect all us Bloggers in the future!  I spent most of Sunday evening trying to navigate my way thru (and joining) Google+ and by the time I went to bed I was fried.  I added a GOOGLE+ Followers THINGY to my sidebar for those of you who want to continue to find me and/or my Blog.  As I understand more I'll share more.  I'm so worried I won't be able to read and follow my favorite blogs and don't want to lose touch with any of you...

What a NIGHTMARE.  Bah!

 Can you believe the Memo Board at the very top once looked like the two above????  UGLEEE for sure!  Well...maybe not that ugly...but you know what I mean.  Very pre-fab and they'd definitely seen better days!

 Found both canvas pictures at Goodwill and ALMOST passed on bringing them home.  Originally I thought I'd paint them but the canvas was too stretched out and wompy!   But...I remembered SOMEWHERE seeing some great refurbished memo boards and asked my Mr. AGPMan to come to the rescue.

He removed the headers (with the sweet fleur de lis) and then ripped off the canvas.  In it's place he stapled on the chicken wire and then reattached the headers.

  After a quick paint job with a ratty trap chip brush and a LIGHT coating of dark wax (Annie Sloan) the Memo Boards were ready for a bit of distressing!

I love how they came out and they were fairly simple to do!

Hope you have an exciting Monday planned.  My Miss K and I will be watching Mary Poppins (she's never seen it) and if the weather stays nice we will be planting spring flowers in my backyard garden.

~WHERE'S MY CUPCAKE??? HAPPY ST. PADDY'S DAY~

 Happy St. Patrick's Day...

I'm not feeling too great at the moment (surely caught some bug...probably a GREEN ONE!) and so this will be quick...

Spent the early afternoon helping my Miss K bake cupcakes!  She did everything herself except pull the hot pans from the oven.  I'm sooo proud of her.  Lemon cupcakes (tinted green, of course) with cream cheese icing!  Lots of shamrock sprinkles and green sugar sparkles for fun!!!  She even piped the frosting onto the tops which is kinda hard when your hands are small!!!!

 She called her Papa in from his workshop (notice his cap) and they shared her sweet treats with glasses of icy cold milk!

While we were chatting away we looked across the table (that sits four) and just who do you think was occupying the lone empty seat?????  Well..if you guessed MY MISS MOLLIE you would be right!  That silly doggie!
How can ANYONE say NO to that face????

SWEET FRENCH TOTES THAT ARE NOT AS GOOD AS CAROL'S

Way back in November 2011 Miss Carol over at The Polka Dot Closet blogged about doing some absolutely amazing Market Bags and I was blown away by what she created!

(If you haven't visited TPDC you just MUST do so today!)

Anyway...I made a mental note of the post and also saved it into my favorites!  Well...bettahhhh late than nevahhhh...I'm finally making a few for my new local booth space even though I took the easy way out and skipped on adding the ruffles like C did!  At SOME POINT I plan on making a few similar to hers, but last night I was just tooo lazy to get that creative!!!

I decided to keep mine easy-peasy and opted to use transfers from Karen at GF!  Three came from her amazing blog and one transfer was made using a vintage lace wrapper from France that I snagged several years ago (Fancy Edging).

I tea/coffee tinted-stained the pre-made tote bags and then washed them by hand which left some of the soft color behind.  The white-white of the original bags was too bright and the ecru bags were just too yellowy for me!

(Gosh...sometimes I feel like I'm nevahhh happy!)

I love how they came out and I'm hoping they'll be good sellers for me!

I promised my Miss K we would tint one a light PINK for her and right now we are trying to think of something fun to transfer to the front!  She definitely wants her name in some fashion!  My idea was "K LOVES HER NANA" but she said that sounded TOO BABY for her!  :(  WAHhhAHHHHH...  She's growing up WAAAAayyyy too fast!
