~VINTAGE BABY SHOES - PIN CUSHIONS~
A couple of weeks ago I asked all you peeps out there for some ideas on how to makeover the vintage baby shoes you see above! If you'd like to read the original post (and the great ideas/comments) you can find it here! I really struggled with which way to go because I love, love, LOVE the shoes I've seen done in natural tones with tiny bird's nest tucked inside...
But...being the pink lover that I am I decided to paint them a soft creamy pink and turn them into Pink Pin Cushions! :) A little paint, a little bit of vintage lace and ribbon, old and new millinery flowers, some lavender, a handful of fluffy fiber filling, some glue and a sweet little charm and WAH-LAH! Done! :)
Just in case you forgot what they originally looked like...here they are:
~GORGEOUS BABY SHOES...CIRCA 1900~
I actually tried to sell both the shoes in my booth space...no takers after 4 months so I brought them back home! The one with the tie is SOLD but the other one is going on my website later today (it is now also SOLD)!
~SOFT and SWEET~
This one has the tie on the top!
~SWEET BABY KEEPSAKE~
This one has buttons up the side!
~LACE TRIMMED OPENING~
Both of the little shoes have vintage lace around the opening and a lavender sachet tucked inside.
I've been super busy in my studio this week and getting lots and lots done! I owe, I owe so off to CREATE I go!
Thanks for all the GREAT IDEAS!
Love to you~

Hi Rebecca, oh how I love vintage baby shoes and yours are adorable. I have to say it would have been perfect if you had the button looper to go with the sweet shoe with the buttons. Can you just imagine how long it took to dress your child in shoes like those? Mine never sat still and all I had to do was tie them. Good job my friend.

Hi Rebecca, I love what you did with the shoes. I have done similar, but here in my area there is no such luck in finding anything like those adorable shoes. I use newer shoes and give as a gift for new babies I do not know so very well and they love them. Hugs, Pauline
Absolutely wonderful job!!! Would have bought one in a second. Bad poor me they're all gone. sniff sniff.
