~ROMANTIC DINING ROOM - Valentine's Day Ready~

~ALMOST VALENTINE'S DAY READY~
A House Without Lace
Is Like a House Without Music

Well peeps...I'm more excited than I can tell you! Believe it or not our formal dining room makeover is ALMOST finished. Save for the crown molding and the painting of my dining room chairs (the French chairs in the photos are from my breakfast room), the really big stuff is about done. It's been so exciting turning what was our formal living room into a beautiful dining retreat.

~OLD HOMER LAUGHLIN PLATES~
Lovin' the English Garden Centerpiece

We still have a few odds and end to wrap up...our French Doors are masked off and ready for paint (what a job that was...two two-sided doors with all those little windows) and I still need to hunt down some fabulous vintage complements for some 2die4 final WOWZER touches.

~LACES AND SUCH~

Along with so many of you who have a passion for things made with the hands, my love of vintage lace and trims shows through in this room. Dining Room or not, the cabinets are filled to overflowing with some of my favorite old finds...snippets of aging embroidery, samplings of old linens and the loveliest laces I've ever seen. Plus, vintage china tea cups are a must as well as a few pieces of the lovely (but inexpensive) stemware my Mother painstaking collected from Green Stamps when I was a young girl. I found even more pieces at local tag sales...what fun!

~PRETTY VINTAGE TABLE~
(fabulous lace cloth from my friend Kim)

I moved this lovely old sofa table into the room from my Den because it was just the perfect piece for anchoring our large picture window. If you ever come to my home you'll find that nothing EVER stays in the same place for very long...

Just ask my Mr. AGPMan...he does most of the heaving moving for me! :)

~VINTAGE MIRROR~

Here is the vintage mirror I showed you a few weeks ago. She is beautiful all by herself!

~STRAWBERRY SHAPED SACHETS~

When my girl married a couple of years ago my mother and I made about 300 of these little sachet beauties for her wedding favors. Truly a labor of love...such fun...such work...but sooo beautiful. I kept a few and proudly showcase them all over my home. Here you can see three underneath my favorite Cloche.

When you don't see me adding things to eBay or even Etsy you can pretty much figure I'm busy doing other things or working in my own home. Now that I have a local booth in an Antique Mall my time is just not my own. But, I wouldn't have it any other way...

More soon!

Blessings to you as you stay true to what you sincerely love...

Hi Rebecca, Wow, this is so gorgeous! I just love everything about your blog, I will be using some of your ideas in my new craft room in the summer.

What colour is the paint on the walls, is it a pinky shade?

The color on the walls is FABULOUS! I had to find a color that was not the same as my entry/stairwell or den but would coordinate with them as you can see all the rooms from the entry door. I took all my swatches with me and found the paint for the Dining Room at Lowe's, It is a pale, pale white with only a hint of pink. It's called BUNGALOW WHITE and it is my FAVORITE COLOR EVER! It doesn't look PINK on the walls but definitely has a hint of blush without yellow undertones! :)

Happy Painting! xoRebecca

Rebecca... I just love your beautiful dining room... wish I could get my sweet Ricky to go with me into the world of cottage pink and white..but I think it would be a bit of a stretch for my farmer-man... at least he let's me have my pink guest bedroom (like he could stop me!), which he refers to as "the wife's room"... gotta love him!

I love the table moved under the window... I've seen the same idea on another blog (maybe she got it from you?).. and I'm thinking of moving one in my living room for the same purpose... maybe I'll sneak a little cottage in here and there... suddenly Ricky will wake up and the house will be filled with cottage pink and white! Well.. a girl can dream can't she?

hugs. Dixie

To Karen...I was sooooo stupid with that About Me on eBay. I could have saved myself a lot of headaches if I'd had a blog vs. changing that eBay page all the time! ahahha

Rebecca, your room is beautiful! I love all the white and soft colors. It's so feminine and welcoming.

I have a very similar china cabinet. I've always thought it would be pretty painted. My husband isn't so sure. :)

Rebecca, your dining room is simply GORGEOUS, DEVINE, BEAUTIFUL and so ROMANTIC!! My favorite rooms in my home are our Living and Dining rooms, as they have most of my vintage rose pictures, plates, and other things I love to decorate with (hubby says there is way to much pink; as if there is such a thing LOL!) Thank you so much for sharing your home with all of us... lots of wonderful ideas to incorporate into our own homes. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead decorating and creating your lovely items! Rebecca, the beauty of your home just melts my heart! You have accomplished so much since my last visit with you. Your home has always been stunning. Truly, it is filled with romance! I love it!!!!!

I am sooooo sorry I've been in hiatus. I have been taking time for family and having some special God time. Also, I've been working on a blog redo, which is going very slowly! Patience has bloomed into admission of need, so I have finally asked for help.

Rebecca, I think of you so often. You are such a special person with a gentle heart, and I treasure your friendship in our blogging world.

Blessings to you! God always hears your heart!

Much love,

Andrea

Rebecca amor, How beautiful everything looks! Painting as much as I like the finished product is my least favorite thing to do, maybe that is why the french doors in my kitchen are still 2 different colors 3 years later? lol I love those cloches you have on metal stands, may I ask where you got them? You know, I have some frnech door handles in a drawer that so remind me of you, they are brass/gold with porcelain handles, the handles have roses on them, I took them off when we were prepping to paint and decided I wanted antique bronze instead to go with our new kitchen decor :) Let me know if you would like them :) Besos, Rose

Oh, Rebecca, your dining room is so romantic and very, very pretty! Love it! You and your hubby have done a splendid job. I have toyed with idea of turning my living room into a dining room too but I don't know if that will ever happen. I'm rather torn because if we want to sell the house down the road, it would be best left as is. I am tempted though; especially after seeing yours so beautifully done. Thank you for giving us a peek.

Blessings,
Sandi

Sweet Rebecca, I could never get my home to look like that in a thousand years. Some people have it and some don't. I don't really know who I am because I like so many different styles and you know who you are and where you are going with your home! Your dining room is just gorgeous and I long for something like that but cannot pull it off! So...I just have some of your pretties around and visit your blog for my fix of soft and pretty! LOVE IT!

Hi Rebecca,

Thankyou for responding to my question about the paint colour, I thought it was just a hint of Pink.

I know I can get that paint in England so I will be buying some soon! Looking forward to getting more inspiration from your blog.

Kind regards
