~DONE DONE DONE~

 ~LOVING THE CONTRAST~

The whirlwind and flurry of excitement brought about with the laying of the new wood floors in our La Chaumière de Briarwood has been replaced with tired and achy bones and a desire for much needed sleep.  My Mr. AGPMan and I are pretty much down for count after days and days of non-stop work.  Even though we didn't personally do the installation just having to prepare our home for the new flooring made for some very full days...it's been pretty intense around here!  It brought to mind the days of our early marriage when we moved fourteen times in two years...
~BACK IN PLACE~

Late yesterday afternoon the workers packed up their gear, cleaned up the mess and left.  My guy has class on Thursday nights and so for an hour or two I was alone.  I was so tired I honestly didn't know if I should laugh, cry or what.  I stood there in the middle of our home, in the very room where over the years I watched my children grow, where nearly twenty Christmas mornings were enjoyed, where bridal and baby showers were hosted, birthdays were celebrated and funeral gatherings were attended.  I couldn't help but marvel at the transformation!  I feel blessed and grateful something my guy and I have wanted for so long has finally come to pass.

This change was good.

It was years in the planning...and even longer in the dreaming~
~SIMPLY WHITE~

Little by little I'm getting things back in order.  It's going to take some time.  We are still in the midst of a very intense kitchen remodel and that won't be finished for many, many moons~

One day at a time.
More planning.
More dreaming.
 ~OUR ENTRY~

This is the view from our front door..
 ~LOOK CLOSELY~

The view from inside our formal dining room.  See where the wide molding/baseboard was removed?  You can see a tiny sliver of green and pink striped wallpaper if you look closely!  Well...nineteen years ago I hung that colorful stuff myself directly onto the drywall!!!  A few years later when I wanted to remove it we my guy couldn't get it off.  We He ended up texturing over it.  The two of us literally laughed out loud when we saw it!

Didn't I just say change is good?

This one definitely was!
~LAUGHING OUT LOUD~

More pictures are coming as I work to get things back in order.  There are a few things I want to bring down from upstairs and even more things being donated to Goodwill...

You may not see me for a couple of days!  Aside from cleaning up the dust and getting things back to normal I'm also working on new product for my website.  Hope to reopen it in a few weeks.

Blessings and love to you today...

Oh My Gosh Rebecca! I had that same faux "moire" wallpaper in one of our houses! I had it in the pink and green and ALSO in the blue and cream color. Great minds think alike, huh?

I can't tell you how excited I am for you. I feel like I have been right there watching the things come together. Imagine Christmas in your home this year! I don't know WHERE we will be for Christmas. We are probably going to sell and downsize and I'm not sure where the Lord is calling us to move yet. (This will be move #16 for us) xo Diana

Looks fabulous! Fourteen times in two years!?? Funny what my brain focuses on...I'd have gone bonkers! And I thought moving every five years or so was bad in the beginning. It was all in the same area, so same school, grandparents still in same home, but very traumatic for Sarah. I moved every rock and flower pot each time! I hope you take a nice long bath and relax this weekend!♥♫

It all looks wonderful. When I started painting our home, I tried to remove the wallpaper in our bathroom and discovered the previous owners had done the same thing, stuck it right onto the drywall. I tore it off and chunks of the wall came with it. I had to texture the walls before I could paint them. When I got to the dining room, I left the wallpaper on and painted over it. the edges were dry and they lifted a bit at the seams, sigh. Also, if I set something against the walls, the paint comes off onto the whatever item is placed against them. If we can get past the hassles, remodeling IS worth it but it sure can test the limits of our patience.

Things are looking GREAT!!!! So glad you are getting to do the things that you have waited so long for. I am wanting to do my floors to and put some paint on the walls. I am hoping this spring.
Also wanted to let you know I am okay, been working a lot with the estate sales and was sick for over a month. But I will try to get back to blogging soon. Thanks for missing me.

Gorgeous, simply gorgeous, you will love your new look when it is finished. I know when we did ours I got rid of a lot of stuff. I just really liked the cleaner and more simpler lines and downsized.

I cannot wait to see the final photo's, congratulations, Maureen

Hi Rebecca,
I know it's very unsettling to have people working in your home and have everything turned upside down. But in the long run it looks beautiful. Your home is going to be even more lovelier.

Here's the post! They look beautiful! I want wood floors so bad, but this house I just bought has brand new carpet throughout, and my frugal nature won't let me just rip up perfectly good carpet, so when it's time, I will do the wood floors. So happy for you and do enjoy them!
