~HAND PAINTED PINK ROSE KEEPSAKE BOX~

Ahhhh....the JOYS of getting back to a normal life!  Easing back into the routine of day to day is more than wonderful!
Today I'm back in my studio finally working on some hand painted offerings.  It's been slow-going with all the hand issues and this year I've listed fewer painted things for sale since I first began selling on eBay in November 2002.  I can't grip a paint brush for more than about ten minutes at a time and that makes me NUTS!  I'm not looking forward to having surgery on both hands on the 28th, but since I've tried EVERYTHING possible to keep my hands from going numb and burning I just can't put it off any longer...  Not sure how long I'll be away, but it's going to be for quite a little bit.
I'm actually looking forward to the break although NOT the surgery itself!  I confess...I'm a total wimp.  My Mr. AGPMan had this same surgery (Carpal Tunnel) on both hands (done at the same time) and he faired just fine so I'm hoping I'll be as fortunate.

I did manage to get this vintage 1930's reproduction medicine box,(KEEPSAKE BOX), finished and just uploaded it onto eBay today.  It's a little smaller than a vintage Train Case but I love the look and feel of it just as much.  Very chippy, shabby cottage chic with a ground of soft, muted pink...

Hoping your Monday is great.  Later this week my favorite big girl (daughter Adrienne) is coming over and we will be doing our treat-baking for friends and neighbors.  Can't wait to show you what's new!

More soon!

Love to you~

Oh my, that box is beautiful!
I hope you recover soon from your upcoming surgery. As a dental hygienist I am always interested to hear how people do with their carpel tunnel surgery. So far I haven't had problems but I do get hand fatigue sometimes. Crafting and painting definately put me over the edge!
Thank you so much for your sweet comments on my blog!

Oh-Rebecca- You know I am happy that you are having the surgery but also scared for you- I know the usage of your hands to create is such a big part of your life. It is going to be hard to give it up -even temporarily- God bless you! That case is GORGEOUS!!! xo Diana

I just had surgery on my left hand several weeks ago and let me tell ya, honey, it's not like it was 20 years ago. Sailed through just fine but my hand is still "fragile" when gripping, etc. As th' hubs says, "You aren't 30 anymore!" I gonna kneecap him tomorrow! But I hope it goes well for you. Things just seem to go wrong in the last part of each decade. I'm now seventy and can hardly waaaait till the end of this decade. Sheesh...

Connie

Have a wonderful Christmas and you'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Rebecca, I have not been up on your blog as much as I should and I missed that your were going to have surgery to your hands. I will hold you in my prayers for a fast recovery. Make sure that you take plenty of time to heal so that you can come back really strong again, blessings, Maureen

I knew you had hand problems, but did not know you had scheduled surgery, I am sure it is from years of holding paint brushes and glue gune...You will do fine! I was wishing I had sprayed the wreath before I put on the ornaments, do you think it will dull the ornaments to much to spray it now!

Dearest Rebecca,
Lovely painting you did here again! Soon you will be seeing your pink business card case in my post! All those pieces look like 'relatives' as they all bear that signature style of rose painting by your golden hands.
Don't worry about the carpal tunnel surgery; that is such a routine procedure meanwhile. You are lucky that it helps and is effective. My Dupuytren's contracture is something I have to live with... no cure. Only if I no longer can place my hand flat on a surface they can do something but even that is temporarily.
Hugs to you and enjoy this special month!
Mariette

Sweet! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for you to heal fast. I know you will be chomping at the bit to paint again without pain. But be patient it takes time to heal. Just think in a couple of weeks the worst part will be over with. You will be back with us in no time! At least I will keep telling myself that! :(

Rebecca, I will be praying for you with the surgery. My goodness, painting is in your soul dear. I hope you can get back to it and your hands will be completely healed. I can understand in a way, because our daughter is a painter and lately due to her illness, she shakes too much to do the small, detailed work that she loves to do and it really breaks her heart. Prayers and blessings being sent your way.
xoxo.

Becky, that litle case is just lovely.

I am praying in Jesus name that you will sail through this and be totally healed, that only good things will result.

Don't be afraid. Remember, "Fear not." And that is from someone far greater than little ole me.

Love you...

XO,

Sheila

Oh my sweet Rebecca...

I am so sorry to hear you're having trouble with your wrists. It is HORRIBLE, isn't it? I've had the surgery on my right hand, need it on my left. I'm feelin' for you girl. The surgery was a piece of cake, and I'm praying yours will be as well.

Love this little, bitsy luggage. You are one prolific artist and your work is lovely.

Hoping you get a little relief until you get the surgery.

Lovies and Huggies,
Spence
