~TIME TO SAY GOODBYE~

Early this morning my beloved Mr. AGPMan's Father, Raymond E. Nelson, passed away.  I would sooo greatly appreciate your prayers as we say goodbye to our loving Father, Husband, Grandpa and friend.  He will be greatly missed by all of us...especially by Steve's mother.  They were married for over sixty years and I'm sure she will have some challenging days ahead.

You can read more about Steve's father HERE.
My hubby's father honorably served in the US Army and was awarded a Purple Heart for Bravery after being severely wounded during the Korean Conflict/War.  He was blinded in one eye and suffered a traumatic head injury and yet lived to be almost 85 years old.

God is good.
Raymond was a dearly loved husband to Doris and loving Father to my husband, Steven Kent...

Adoring Grandfather to Brandon Kent...
And to Adrienne Rachelle....
We hold many precious memories inside our hearts of him...
Seems like yesterday he was a giddy Grampa to our two beautiful (and young!) children.
He helped us celebrate in the best of times...
And loved me from day one.
He left us far too soon...

Today was his first day in heaven!
We rejoice in his home-going!

Thank you for your prayers during these tough times.

Blessings to you for a wonderful New Year.  This was a truly challenging year for us and we are looking forward to a fresh beginning.

Love to you all...

Sending prayers - what a wonderful legacy he has left behind.
Wonderful example of courage, being a husband and fatherhood.

This world needs more men like him.

Rebecca, I have already said a prayer for your family. My heart goes out to you all. My sweet in-laws were both still in their fifties when they passed away, about 18 yrs. apart. Even though it has been some 42 years, it still saddens me when I think of it. They treated me as if I were their own child and I(we) all loved them very much. You are right that you have been blessed to have them to see your beautiful children grow up and that your children were able to know and love him and their grandmother.

May God be with you and your family at this sad and trying time.

Just love that sweet photo of him with the BIG smile. He looked so full of life! I know he is going to be missed. Having traveled this road, it is not easy. There will be times of memories shared and laughter and intense times of loneliness and emptiness. You will hurt more at times for mom than for your own grief.

Oh, sweet Rebecca, I know you wonder how much more. Prayers for you all.

As heaven opens up to him, and he celebrates his first day there, it must be so hard for your husband and his mother, and everyone left behind missing your father-in-law. He sounds like a lovely grandpa, father and father-in-law - the smile says so much. I'm so sorry for your loss.

God bless you, my dear. My heart and prayers are yours as you walk through the grief of losing this wonderful man. I lost my Dad last year and though we all knew it was coming, it was one of the most difficult things I've ever gone through. ((hugs)) Rejoicing in the good memories...and it's okay to cry.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your father-in-law! He sounds like a very special man.
I lost my Mother soon after Christmas a few years ago, and although I was so sad to lose her I knew she would have been happy to know she returned to heaven during such a happy time on earth.

And yes, I agree with you that this coming new year will bring not just renewal but brand new beginnings and new doors to open! Love and blessings, Christy

Your father in law sounds like a wonderful man. Prayers to your family at this time... I am so glad I checked my blog for updates from my list of favorites & found your post. So sorry for your loss. My father is very ill at this time & since he lives 3 1/2 hrs away, it is challenging to not be able to be there continuously. But God has taken this time to bless our relationship with healing love. May your memories give you comfort & the knowledge that your FIL is in Jesus's Loving Arms. What would we do without Him?
Blessings,
Cindy

Rebecca, This is a beautiful post, he is watching from above. I feel
so bad for his wife. It took me almost 8 month's to start to function after my Husband passed.
Then My Mother went, then I had Cancer. Staying alive is a big job.
I wish you a better 2014. yvonne
