~WHAT ARE THE CHANCES???~

Last week I showed you a sweet vintage lamp I picked up at our local thrift store.  I loved it's petite size and thought it would look really charming painted up white.  So...that's what I did!  Painted it white.  I lightly antiqued it and set my cap at finding a lampshade that would complement it's tiny frame.  That's proving to be more difficult that I first thought!
I've looked at tons of stores (well, not really TONS, but you know!) since I found the lamp and every single shade I've seen has the newer deep-well socket.  I haven't been able to find even one that will take a lamp with a final.  I'm not giving up...I'll find something!
Anyway...yesterday my Miss K returned home after spending the weekend here at our La Chaumière de Briarwood.  On the way back to her house we stopped off at a thrift store about 25 miles from my home.  We walked straight to the lamp area and wouldn't you know it,  NO LAMPSHADES!  Because I was looking for shades and NOT LAMPS I almost missed an identical vintage lamp to the one I purchased last week in my town.  I couldn't believe it!!!  Are you kidding me???  The finial is missing on lamp #2 and the socket was different, but I don't care.  I was just so thrilled to find another one!  I'm still on the hunt for lampshades, only now I need two!  I think they will look really sweet with French Lace covers!!!!  That's my plan anyway!
Friday night my Mr. AGPMan and I took our Miss K to the Oklahoma State Fair.  We had such a wonderful time!  There is nothing more fun than going to the Fair with a little kid...  We rode tons of rides and even got on the biggest Roller Coaster!  EEEEEK!
Here we are on the Ferris Wheel.  She won that pink monkey at some side show...
Eating PINK Cotton Candy!  I LOVE Cotton Candy...LOOOOOOVE IT!  And NOPE...it's NOT on my
Weight Watchers Maintenance Plan!
(Tooo bad!)
Miss K is NOT happy about us wanting to take more pics!  She just wanted to roll that ball!
(I'm still eating PINK Cotton Candy!)
Miss K's tuckering out!  Here she is riding on Uncle Mikey's Back!  My daughter Adrienne and her hubby,Micah, are the BEST Auntie and Uncle around!
They LOVE that little girl so much!
Here is MIss K with her Papa aka: Mr. AGPman!
More Ferris Wheel fun!
On Saturday we went to Tammy's wedding and my camera quit working after only a few pics.  I managed to get a few snapshots of the table and my guy got one of my Miss K and I.  I was sooo upset when we got home and there were only a handful of photos! :(

The wedding was soooo beautiful!  I'll share what I have AFTER Ginger shares hers!

Hope you have a great week!  I'm finishing a special order for a Train Case Makeover and having so much fun!

Love to you...

 OK...so I'm NOT a poet!
(Couldn't resist a wee bit of MUSE!)

I surely AM a deal-finder tho!  Check this out...
On Monday I went to one of our local thrift stores and found this amazing vintage lamp.  Isn't it just the neatest little thing?  I'm going to paint her up with a fresh white paint and then I have the perfect place for her.  Not telling you YET where that special place is...all in good time.
(More about this soon!)

Now...want to know what made this beauty the deal of the day
week
MONTH?
Yep...you got it!  Total price $4.98 after being marked down twice.  Can't believe nobody wanted it for $14.96...and then $8.98.  Well I did...but $4.98 is very much bettahhhhh....

I'm off to CREATE with JOY!

Love to you...

~ROMANTIC COTTAGE WHITE LAMP MAKEOVER~

Hope you are having a good day!  I had a super busy weekend and the fun continues.  The storms have cleared out a bit and sun is shining...LOVE IT!  Reminds me of my Cali homeland!

Today I'm linking up with Kathleen over at Faded Charm for
WHITE WEDNESDAY and Cozy Homes Scenes for YOUR COZY HOME PARTY.

About a month ago I was doing some browsing on eBay when I came upon an auction for a stack of hand crocheted lace motifs.  They were new old stock and probably were made at least thirty to forty years ago or more.  Originally intended for tablecloth edging I couldn't resist bidding on them .  I won the auction for only a few dollars (I think $10) and was delighted when my package arrived a few days later.
I used the lace as a flounce on a lampshade I embellished with vintage laces and trims.  I have two of these lamps and each one is done a little different.
On Saturday I made my way to ((I LOVE)) TARJAY (Target) to scope out their lampshades.  The time had come to replace the shades on my tall buffet styles lamps and I wasn't looking to spend much money!  I found two drum style shades for about $12 each and brought them home to see if they would work.
The shades already had this great linen fabric on them but they really needed a bit more.  I started with one (in case I messed up!) and attached another style of crochet lace to the lower edge.  Over this I placed some natural braid in soft white before adding a cluster of three vintage millinery roses.
Some loops of vintage tatted lace trim was tied into a little bundle and attached underneath the vintage blooms.  The drum shades were VERY EASY to do and this little bit of lace, braid and flowers completely transformed them.  The shades at the top were more involved but still fairly simple to do!
While out and about I just HAD to stop into another one of my favorite stores...TJ Maxx!!!  I'm a Maxi-niesta! :)  I found these great crochet lace edged napkins (set of 4) for $7.99.  Not too terribly bad...they had two packs in natural white so I brought them home with me!  They are all cotton and really great for the price.  LOVE THE LACE TRIM (machine made or not)! :)

For those of you who MAY be wondering about our kitchen remodel, well...the old kitchen is mostly ripped out but we still have tons to do.  It's going to be slow going with my guy in school and all.  By the way...he's over halfway done now...gets out in November!  Whoot!  Whoot!

Hope your day is fab!

Love to you...
