~IT'S TIME FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL...Shabby Pink and Wonderful~

~IT'S TIME FOR SOMETHING PINK~

I've been working really hard over the past couple of weeks in my studio and so jazzed about the new things coming your way via my A Gathering Place website!  I've been face-deep in fun makeover projects for my local booth (French Quarter Antiques - Oklahoma City) and my online shoppe and I've been hopping between the two!  No idle time around here...:(!  That said...I wouldn't have it any other way!

I've been able to squeeze in just a wee bit of 'junkin' about town' time and I was out-of-my-head and over-the-moon excited when I snagged the vintage PINK American Westclox Alarm Clock you see above.  Guess where I found it?  The very Antique Mall I have a booth space!  Isn't it 2die4?  I'm keeping this little pretty as they are just toooo hard to come by!

Now...most of you know nearly every Saturday Morning I go Estate Sale Shopping!  But, last weekend my plans were CHANGED when just before we headed out I happened to peek in on Craig's List (Oklahoma) and saw an offering for a set of vintage French Provincial Furniture for sale.  Now...I live north of Oklahoma City and the furniture was in Norman.  The sweet young couple selling the set didn't feel comfortable holding it (gee...wonder why?) and so my Mr. AGPMan hopped into both of our vehicles to make the 40 mile one-way drive in hopes of buying all five pieces (Dresser, Chest, Mirror and two Night Tables...all of which wouldn't fit into just my SUV!)!

Our Estate Sale Shopping was totally put ON HOLD...no time to waste visiting the eleven homes on our list!

(Love Those Dated Mirrors!)

Of course I was praying the entire time we were driving the furniture wouldn't sell before we got there.  When we were about five minutes away my guy made another call saying we were ALMOST THERE!  They were then willing to hold the set for us.  SCORE!
~Darling Chest~
(I KNOW!  Totally fabulous!)

Now...I'm going to be totally VAGUE about what I paid for the FIVE pieces because I'm going to clean them all up, prime and paint them and then offer them for resale in my shoppe!  But...I will tell you that it was not one cent MORE than a single Benjamin! :)  EEEK!

Now...if you are STILL reading here is a bit of news for you.

Tomorrow I will announce my SWEET PINK Give-A-Way for June!  I actually wanted to have one when I reopened my Website in April, but I was just too unfocused to get one together!!!  So....

In honor of all you peeps who follow me along, comment on my long-winded Posts :) or even those of you who just stop in once in a while to say" HI", this Give-A-Way is for you!

I'll be sharing more details in the morning!
Blessings for an AWESOME Monday!

Love to you~

Oh these are just great!! I got a set but it is from the '70's with same sort of style. My grandmother had a set in "my room" at her house when I was small! LOVE it all!!

So glad you got the whole set. I have bought so much of that kind of furniture in the past. My girl friend and I used to buy it and sell it in the mall. We repainted it and I always painted roses on the pieces. They always did so good selling and yours will too. Can you believe I found a whole set like that on the side of the road. The lady let me move it up against her house until I could go get a pick up. That friend and I got it all. It was out for the trash man. Isn't God good. We made good money from that great find. Hope you do as good.
You have a blessed night.
Hugs, Pat

Rebecca...

I've been enjoying your blog for quite a while...and although your decorating style is quite different from mine, I'm totally in awe of your talent. Each time you share one of the rooms in your home, I'm just amazed at your ability to "layer" so many lovely details into a beautiful whole. Truly inspiring!

Anyway...I just had to comment on your pink alarm clock. I was born in Peru, Illinois...which is right next door to LaSalle, where your clock was made...and my parents met while they were both employed at Westclox. My Dad was a toolmaker...and my Mom worked on the assembly line and also served as the photographer for the company magazine, "Tic Talk." If your clock was manufactured before 1956, it's likely they had a hand in making it! I'm glad you're keeping the clock...they don't 'em like that anymore...but, if you plan on actually USING it, be forewarned. That alarm is LOUD! You'll be peeling yourself off the ceiling!

I so did NOT do as well as you! The one furniture piece I bought doesn't compare to yours! I can't wait to see them refinished, I know you will make them look splendid.

I am doing very well, thank you for asking! I am having lots of fun with our booth. We usually go in a couple of times a week to shift things around and check things out. I have been painting a hutch the last few days. By hand. We are going to save up for a spray gun before my arm falls off!

Hi Rebecca - what a wonderful find for you. I know it will be beautiful when finished. I redid an old dresser that has a small drawer on the top. It is white with beautiful pink roses.....I will sell it at my gift show coming up in October.....Best of luck always. Hugs, Pauline

My girlfriend had that set when we were growing up... I keep looking to a vanity like the ones that were in my house as a child, they had a huge round mirror and I love the padded bench.

I am one of those who just droped by for the very first time and saw that clock photo and said " gee O my I love that it's pink how lucky for her " .. Where O where can I find such a fine looking clock -- it's so what I've been looking for for a long while now and there you have it -- could my heart beat so loud -- silly I know but love it! I have this bedroom called "just for Gal's" it where my granddaughter stay when they sleep over -- I am still in the decor mold still and looking out for just such items.. I'll be back to see how your new project turns out! Glad I found your blog!
