~A SWEET BOX FOR KEEPSAKES~

One of my great finds last weekend was this amazing old handmade box!  I have plans to hand paint something on the front (maybe MEMORIES in French) as I think it will be an awesome keepsake box!  Promise to show you more once it's completely finished.
Originally the box (it's a wee bit smaller than a bread-box) had a large scenic picture on the top of the lid...took forever to sand off~or at least that's what my Mr. AGPMan said!  I actually think it was a clipping from a magazine and it certainly wasn't chic! :)  The lid's brackets were also leather and they were rotting so they had to go!  My guy attached new hinges for me and below is what it looked like after the picture was removed and new hinges were added.  I roughed up the hinges (sanded them) before painting the entire box with my favorite paint!
I've had a busy month so far and I'm excited about this coming weekend (and part of next week) as my favorite little girl in the whole wide world is coming to stay with me for Spring Break.

Be still my heart!
Gosh...I love being a Nana to ONE amazing ten year old girl~she brings me so much JOY!  I have to tell you it's SUCH a God-thing! :)  Lots of fun things are planned, none the least being we are going to begin reading the book CHRISTY by Catherine Marshall.  It's a big, thick book, but one I know my Miss K will love (she loves to read!).  My mother read the book to my siblings and I when we were growing up and I've never forgotten the special time we shared together as a family.  Snuggling and one-on-one time can't be beat..even with my growing girl!!!  Love the bonding and memory-making moments as they will last a lifetime!
A few days ago I showed you the inside of a vintage Train Case (Gathering Case) I finished for a customer in England.  Today I'm giving you a peek at the outside...it's painted a soft creamy white (almost cottage white, but not quite). This is the second time I've used this design and it's become one of my favorites!

I've also been working on new cards for Mother's Day...  I hope to have them on my website soon!

More when I can squeeze in a bit more time for
blogging and visiting~

(Spring is coming....Ahhhhhhhh!!!!)

Love to you...

Love the memory box, Rebecca! I think your plans for the image sound wonderful. Love how the outside design on the travel case turned out. Very soft and romantic looking. I've never read that book, but the title sounds familiar. Was there a television show made from it?

Such pretties! But, you think spring is coming? Not out here! I woke up to a surprise of 4-6 inches of snow this morning. DEEP! NO WIND! It was so pretty and we were blessed with all the moisture it held. But, driving on the ice under all that snow was not fun. Of course, I am old and cautious (so I go slowly) but many on the interstate were not. The custodian and nurse both saw a lot of roll overs this morning! Scary.

Take care and have LOTS of fun with your sweetie!♥♫
