~THE ROSE LIVES ON~

 ~MY FIRST ROSE OF SPRING~

Yesterday was such a gorgeous day here in Oklahoma so I carried all my pretty house plants outside in order for them to enjoy the warmth of the sun.  I also flung open the doors and windows of our home and it felt so good to allow our house to breathe  in fresh air for a bit...

Nothing better.
~PLAYING WITH PHOTOSHOP~

While bringing the plants back inside this afternoon (cooler temps come later tonight and possibly heavy rains) I noticed the petite rose plant my daughter gave as a gift after my hand surgery last December had bloomed.  Lots of wee little buds are beginning to open, but only one showed her true colors... a beautiful, soft pink!  I willed this tiny plant to LIVE during the past few months and I just couldn't contain my JOY when I realized she would actually make it.  I hope someday to transplant her into my garden.

WELCOME SPRING TO OKLAHOMA!

Happy Monday!

Love to you...

I'm sure that lovely little rose will bloom again. I planted one outside after it languished on my kitchen windowsill for most of a year - it was a tiny little yellow rose. Last spring, its first outside, it grew and grew and then proceeded to bloom all summer long - full-sized yellow roses with amazing perfume. It was such a gift!

Oh Rebecca I wish my roses were even beginning to turn green- we have had several gorgeous days but still have several snows ahead- Our safe planting date isn't till after Mother's day!

I am trying to find some pansies to plant as they should do ok this early but even Walmarts and such are not opening their garden centers yet!

I cleaned up my veggie garden and am all ready for planting when it comes time- love getting that dirt under my fingernails!
