~WILL DYING STOP THE PAIN?~

I had something else planned today to share but given the events that took place this morning in Stillwater, Oklahoma, I'm going to save my fun things for another day.

I don't feel like FUN today.

I have no idea what caused an 8th grade student to take his life in the hallway of his Junior High School just before 8AM...but something did.  Something was so horrible, so absolutely terrible in this boy's life that he no longer wanted to live.  He chose to exit this world in the most brutal of ways.

Can't help but wonder if he chose death over bullying.  I'm guessing he did.
I hope I am wrong, but I know I'm not.

The reality of life sometimes cuts in fast and deep and leaves me almost speechless.  Even though I'm not without thought I can barely make a sound.  I'm so enraged my fingers can barely type.

I'm more than overwhelmed because I know in my heart if not for just a few different things, the child lost today could have been one of my own.

Praying for the families and the students who are hurting today.

Asking God today for strength to seek action regarding the issues that continue to destroy our children.

May God help us.  May God help us all.

Love to you...

Dearest Rebecca,

This is alarming indeed. It is sad that more and more of this is happening. Guess the morals are down and since religion is banned from schools it seems that with that comes a whole package of negative behavior. Let's pray that it will not get worse!!!
Hugs to you,
Mariette

How horribly sad:( I lost my best friend to suicide when we were 17. She had tried several times before, once during school hours in the girls bathroom and also, when she was in junior high. She wasn't bullied, she was extremely popular, beautiful with the brightest smile and best personality but she had a pain that I guess I just couldn't understand:(

RIP to this poor young man, I can't even imagine the pain his family is in right now.

This is so very tragic and more than sad. What is going on, it seems this country is coming apart at the seams in so many areas..Unfortunately suicide is way up in adults also...I agree in prayer with you, May Our Dear Lord help us all.

Bless you my dear. xo

Oh, Rebecca this is truly horrible. I hadn't heard about it. I agree...so tragic, so awful...there aren't even words to describe it, or our feelings, is there?

Oh, Rebecca, this is so tragic and sad! I hadn't heard until I read your post. The dear boy! I feel so badly for his family and friends.

Less than a month ago, we buried my hubby's nephew. His brother had died four years before him, same thing, an overdose! Both young men with their whole lives ahead of them, but obviously they were in great pain. How our children need the Lord! We all do! God help us!

Blessings,
Sandi

As I read this sad story, my heart was torn out....LORD, what are we as christians doing or not doing? Another precious soul gone......at a time it was not meant to be. Did someone try to help or reach this young man? It's not the governments place, or the schools place to solve every problem but as a nation to turn our hearts to GOD, put him first in everything we do, BE the SALT and LIGHT of this EARTH. GOD is being removed from everything that this nation stood on and we wonder why........???and what is wrong. Roxie

I too didn't hear the horrid news, what a devastating thing to have happen. We Christians all over the world should unite in prayer for this situation. Seems like it happens all the time.

How terrible! With sons in the 7th grade it is really scary. The poor parents, I can't even imagine. Such a hard age and worse if you are being bullied. There is a no bullying policy at our school strictly enforced. I hold my boys tight everyday before school and tell them how much they mean to me.

I can not imagine anything more upsetting/sad/distressing...etc etc , than a child you love, whose so upset he/she would take their life. My prayers are with this family..... this is always so heartbreaking!!
I hate prejudice and bullying...... !!! This will never be experienced in heaven..... praise God!

Two weeks ago I was at the hospital with one of the teenagers in our youth group who made the 3rd attempt and almost succeeded. The teacher ignored the bullying and said she was making it up and the students continued to taunt her. She told one friend who realized she was slipping away, "She won't have to worry about me anymore. Soon I'll be gone." (Read my blog about it) Makes me mad!

Having lost one of my beautiful grand-daughters at age 23 from suicide I can truly feel for the parents and family of this young boy. And I can only wonder what demons were driving him to end his life....some times
no one realizes the despair these children are feeling. Bullying is getting totally out of hand and the school officials seem to under-play it. We need to have STRICT rules and follow-ups on incidents. We also need to have GOD back in our schools.
I know this child has found peace and love now in GOD's loving arms. May he RIP.
Thanks for posting about this sad incident Rebecca....it needs to be addressed loudly so something can be done....
Have a better tomorrow, Sweetie..
Love and hugs to you from me, Francy

OMG! I didn't hear of this. Whwn will something be done to stop the bullies from harrassing others. I thought it was bad when I was going to school, but it is so much worse now. There are so many ways to bully someone. Tears are falling over this.

So, so sad. I know what it is to be a child full of despair- without hope or faith. Then again, maybe I did have faith and just didn't know it. Thank God for mercy. ♥
