~PINK SATURDAY...More Vintage Pink Postcards For You~

~LOVED PINK IN 1978, TOO!~

Happy Pink Saturday to all of you who are absolutely in LOVE with the color PINK!  I hope you'll stop by and visit the beautiful blog of our Hostess, Miss Beverly from HOW SWEET THE SOUND!  While you're there make sure to take a peek at the list of all the PINK SATURDAY participants!  You are sure to be inspired by all the pink beauty you will find!  It's always so much fun!

The picture you see above was taken on my wedding day!  I loved pink even then...  I wasn't quite 20 years old on the day I married my beloved.  It's hard for me to believe that all of my bridesmaids (and me!) are Nana's now!  I'll be sharing more of my wedding day photos with you next month when my Mr. AGPMan and I celebrate our anniversary.  By the way...my big sister, Linda, is kneeling in front of me holding my garter.  She's always been so beautiful to me!

Now...I actually had a different Pink Saturday Post planned for you but my camera decided to FREAK OUT on me and I can't figure out what is causing her such distress!  I'm quite sure I turned some tiny little setting or something but I can't figure out how to fix what I did!
~THOUGHTS of THEE~

Since I couldn't snap pics of my pink pretties I've opted instead to share with you three more vintage postcards from my ever growing collection!  I've re-colorized them for you in PINK and I'm hoping you'll find something FUN to make with them!
~FAITHFULNESS~

I actually love these old postcards even more reworked in a tone on tone style than in their original condition!  Hope you will love them, too!

Lastly...I'm in the middle of a GIVEAWAY and I hope you'll stop by and check it out!  It ends on the 12th of August and somebody is going to win a couple of really sweet (and PINK) pretties from my A Gathering Place website.  Click HERE for find out more!

~HERE'S A ROSE FOR YOU...No Hydrangeas Can Be Found~

~A ROSE FOR YOU~

First...thank you for all the HYDRANGEA DRYING TIPS you sent my way yesterday and for putting up with my drama-filled muse! :)  Most of you who commented agreed on one of two ways I might successfully preserve my beautiful blooms!  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!  I will keep you posted on how I do!

I took a peek outside at my backyard garden yesterday evening and I'm not sure I'll have another chance to even TRY using any of your TIPS this year.  Presently both my bushes (even though they DO have the right amounts of sun and shade) don't APPEAR to have survived the ravages of our Oklahoma heatwave...  I'm hoping they will resurrect themselves in the Spring...we'll see!
~Caching!  Caching!~

I'll be sure to save my $$$ in one of these sweet little piggies just in case they don't make it!  Those two Hydrangea Bushes set me back a whopping fifty buckaroos and that's enough to make even the greenyiest of green thumbs want to toss out their trusty spade... :)

Now...sorry for the short POST for today but I'm enjoying being BACK in my studio where I'm finishing up several of the painted pretties I started many moons ago...

Oh...time is slipping by and that GIVEAWAY I'm having is going to be ending soon!  If you haven't gotten your name entered for a chance to win a couple of sweet things then just click HERE for the details!

Tick-tock!  Tick-tock!

I'm smiling for the weekend cometh!

Love to you~

~LOVING HYDRANGEAS...But What Did I Do?~

~Beautiful Air Dried Hydrangeas~

A couple of weeks ago while out junkin' in my town I came across this lovely over-sized kitchen jar filled to the brim with aging Hydrangeas.  I love decorating with REAL flowers, dried or fresh, and couldn't wait to display my latest find inside a pretty little cloche.

Now...I make no secret about the fact that I do NOT have a green thumb.  I long to...I try to...but, no matter how much I water, don't water, follow planting directions, shade, sun and soil recommendations, etc., I continually FAIL to produce a lovely floral harvest.  My flowering plants and shrubs look good, sometimes even great at first bloom...but after just a short time they look, well...crummy.  I even struggle to keep some alive.

It is so depressing.

 ~Simply Beautiful~

And so I have a tendency to put the BLAME on my beloved state of Oklahoma and her ever changing weather.
 This make me feel better.
That is...until I peek at my neighbor's flourishing landscapes and then I get even more depressed.

Again the word "FAIL" (yes, in big, bold letters) comes to mind!
~Such Detail~

So...when I found these lovely (and nearly perfect) dried petals I got the wonderful idea to take a cutting from a couple of my plants in my suffering garden...  I was more excited than I can tell you!  I carefully snipped away two pretty and deep pink Hydrangea heads and brought them inside to dry.

I didn't do anything fancy as I HAD HEARD they will just dry naturally.
~What a Mess~

Well...this is what I got!  Two shriveled up little tuffs of grayish-purple petals.

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...

FAIL!  FAIL!  FAIL!

Can somebody HELP ME??

Quick!  SAVE ME!
