~SWEET FINDS...VINTAGE PINK ROSE CAKE COVER~

 My hands and wrists continue to improve and I was excited about getting my PINK ON with some painting time in my studio on Thursday evening.  I love working on old finds and think this charming old Cake Cover and Pedestal Stand had waited long enough for their transformation!  You can find the cake cover

 I found this sweet two drawer cubby thingy (what do you call this anyway????) in Tennessee earlier this summer and love how it looks painted out in the same pink paint!  You can find both offered for sale on my website.

 I also worked on those two fold-up vintage chairs I showed you a couple of days ago...one is almost done and the second will be painted identical to it (roses won out by the way!).  They are already SOLD to one of my favorite gals so now I need to get busy and finish them up.  Promise to show them to you as soon as they are ready!

Yesterday morning I had to drive into Oklahoma City (about 15 miles from my home) to visit my hand doctor and after my appointment I decided to do a wee bit of junking.  I visited one estate sale (not many on Thursdays!) and tried to not be upset when a lady who had arrived at the sale ahead of me was buying up ALL MY THINGS!

I did find several really sweet finds at a few thrift shops though!  My favorite by far is the tiny little chest of drawers made out of solid wood.  No particle board (or worse) here!  Not sure just how I'm going to paint this piece, I only know it's destined for my booth space sometime next week!

 I also found this neat old stool and another thrift shop.  I could tell by first glace it was a quality piece and sure enough when I turned it over I found the Ethan Allen maker's mark on the bottom!

I was really having a good day because I also snagged a couple of old Tole Lamps (which are a rare find these days) and a milk glass lamp as well.  On Saturday my Mr. AGPMan and I are going to a HUGE ESTATE SALE a couple of towns away.  He doesn't get to go with me very often because of school...so this is going to be a real treat for me!

~NEW BOOTH REVEAL and HAPPY PINK SATURDAY~

I've been away for several days working on my new booth space here in my town of Edmond, Oklahoma.  I've been yapping about this on several posts now because lately getting the space ready has taken nearly all my focus.  It's almost stocked...ALMOST!  Still have some things to clean up and price...such fun!

 Thought you'd like to see where I am right now with my space.  It's not big...about 10' x 10'.  I'm nowhere near stocked up or truly ready for selling...but I'll get there before long!  Lots of things base painted and ready for artwork so I'll be super busy over the next couple of weeks!  My Miss K is now OUT of school and is coming to spend all next week with me!  So...along with opening up my new booth I'm going to be visiting some fun kid-places around town!

For those of you who are wondering about my website...well...I've not abandoned it.  Truly not!  I promise I'll be getting back to stocking it as soon as I can.  Sweet new painted pretties are coming this summer!  Rest assured I still LOVE what I do...just wanting to expand a little!  Stay tuned for lots and lots of yummy hand painted pink roses!

Last month when I was in Cali visiting my brother, Bill, my sister and I visited more thrift stores than I can tell you.  I've never seen more second-hand stores than those on the West Coast.  We have tons of them popping up here in Oklahoma, but nothing like there is in California!

 

 Anyway...I snagged this darling not-quite-vintage pink wool and cashmere coat for $9.99 at a Goodwill in Whitter, CA.  Isn't it the sweetest thing?  It fits me perfectly and I can hardly wait until the weather turns cool so I can wear it!

It seems I've had the busiest week ever, but truth be told...I love it!  I spent hours upon hours working in my studio and somehow I managed to not only finish painting the room, but the two HUGE-A-MONGUS closets as well!  My Mr. AGPMan installed new shelving for me and I've vowed to truly get organized...and I will...even if it kills me! :)

Anyway...I worked like a dog and even though I'm MORE THAN TIRED I know all the work will pay off during the busy holidays!  I barely breathe the last three months of the year and nevahhhh-evahhhh have time to do any re-do stuff.

In the midst of the chaos I somehow managed to finish up some new PINK PRETTIES that will be offered soon on my A Gathering Place Website.  They've been MORE THAN FUN to create and I've loved tapping into the All-Things-French-and-Paris craze!

Since "I LOVE PARIS IN THE SPRINGTIME" (and in the Summer, Fall and Winter) I've continued working during my evening hours on some new greeting cards, tags and notes that showcase my affection for French Confection-ry.  I'm having so much fun and the possibilities are endless when working with vintage graphics!  If I'm not careful the wee morning hours can easily melt into my evening hours...it just doesn't feel like work!

Eeek!  I just love PhotoShop and Paint Shop Pro!  I'm soooo NOT a techno-girl so if I can master even a tiny bit of each of these programs it's not unusual to see me rock-out with a 'happy dance'.  :)

Three weeks ago my Mr. AGPMan ducked out of town of a little getaway to the Grand Canyon.  We had an amazing time while visiting the gorgeous State of Arizona and we hope to return someday soon!

I saw this totally fabulous BIG PINK TRUCK hanging on the wall of a local shoppe!  I LOVED IT and just had to take a picture.  It was actually only "HALF a TRUCK", but it was still amazing!

Now...I'm always looking for a piece of paper to scribble on.  And so...tucked down into the bottom of a fabulous new purse from my guy on Mother's Day I found this darling dispenser.  Isn't it fab?

Now...because I'm shameless :) :) :) I'm not afraid to SELF-PROMOTE my A Gathering Place Website.  This IS after-all MY BLOGGIE :) :) :) and besides I'm totally into FREE ADVERTISING!  For what I have to pay for those Magazine Ads I need all the free press I can get... :)  Kaaaaaa-Ching!!!!!

One of my sweetest longtime customers asked me sometime back if I'd fashion some wraps for gourmet soaps.  (I've been working on it Miss F...sorry for the delay!)  So far nothing has come out over-the-moon wonderful.  This one came out KINDA Sweet...but personally I think it needed a black bow!  I'll be back to the drawing board computer "key" board on Monday!

~PINK ROSE CASE~

Now...over a year ago I snooped around until I found the company that manufactured this fabulous metal case.  Several years ago one of my customers (hi, Heather) sent me one she found at a garage sale.  I truly thought it was vintage.  Come to find out it wasn't even though I sold it as such (sorry to whoever bought it!).  Anyway...this one I base painted pink before painting a bouquet of pink roses on the front and sides.  

Betcha can't guess who bought this one?

The three little pictures above steal my heart away.  Very few of you know the back story of my Miss K and until she is older and chooses to share it for herself, that is how it will remain.  What I will tell you is that the photos you see were all taken on a frosty November day as I worked feverishly at squeezing in as many 'experiences' as possible into a six hour time-frame.  Now...here I am almost exactly 5 years later and find I'm not only thankful for answered prayers but for restoration of the years the locusts devoured.

Next comes a  pretty pink rose quilt that was originally sold at MERVYN'S (geez...I miss that store!).  It was an EARLY Rachel Ashwell print and I still love it as much today as I did when I bought it several years ago!

I don't recall where I first found these charming Paris Pink File Folders but boy do I love them!  YUMMO!

Isn't this little Pinky sweet?  I recently purchased this old Post Card on eBay and I'm over the moon crazy about the image!  Too Sweet!

This charming old box was once rusty and worn!  It was sold to one of my long-time buyers last week and I was sooo sooooooooo sad to see her go!  Some things you just hate to part with!  "So long sweet old Tackle Box!  Hope Miss Sweet Tea loves you as much as me!"

This darling old print came in a wedding guest book I bought in the early 90's at T.J.Maxx.  I loved it so much I tore it out of the book and put it in a little frame!  She hangs in my office!

I love old graphics and the one you see above has always been one of my favorites!  There's just something about her face and pink rose hat that pulls me in...
