~VINTAGE FRENCH IMAGES FOR WHITE COTTON PILLOWS~

Long week in my rear view mirror~but an equally exciting one ahead for me!  Hope you are looking forward to a wonderful week as well. 

Just a quick post to share with you a trio of custom-ordered vintage French ephemera pillows finished up over the weekend.  The graphics were purchased by the customer from a seller on ETSY (Francine Paradela) and then reproduced/stamped onto soft white cotton fabric.  I love how the vintage images came out...

 I snagged a few sweet things this past weekend and also worked on refurbishing a cabinet I showed you several days ago...  With warmer weather making it's way to Oklahoma I'm more than happy to get back to doing what I love.

My heart goes out to Pastor Rick Warren (author of the best seller THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE) and his wife as they deal with the suicide death of their beloved son, Matthew.

I think it's easy sometimes to view others, especially when they reach a certain pinnacle of success, as having perfect lives.  As I grow older I understand more and more there simply is

No perfect...

No absolutely wonderful...

At least not all the time.

I can only imagine Pastor Warren standing and facing his congregation today being burdened by such overwhelming grief.

May his sorrow be overshadowed by God's love.

Depression is a terrible thing...an ugly disease...one that knows no mercy and plays no favorites.  My prayer today is simply for the love and mercy of God to wash over this family and ultimately for something good to come out of death of their son, brother and friend.

~VINTAGE CARD MAKEOVER and SOMETHING TO MAKE YOUR EYES ROLL~

 

  I've been busy in my studio working on paper goods for both my website and my booth at Serendipity Market...time for some fun new designs and the reworking of a few older ones!

 I've sold Greeting Cards and blank Note Cards showcasing this sweet vintage card with baby shoes for several years now.  It's been one of my favorite images to transform.  I'm loving how it looks done in soft whites and sepia tones!  This way the pink roses are perfect for welcoming both a baby girl and a baby boy!  You can find them for sale here!!!

 Can you believe the vintage card used for making these Note Cards and Tags originally looked like this?  Dates back at least to the 1950's and probably 1940's.  This one took some work to transform, but it was all fun................................

brand new, thrift store found, skirt!

Discovered at one of my favorite second hand haunts the skirt was manufactured/labeled Antonio Melani.  AM is a brand typically sold at Dillard's.  The skirt is made of soft white linen and includes beautiful embroidery and machine-made detail work.

 

The skirt is made up for 12 sections (gores) and the edges are scalloped.  Definitely high-end and absolutely lovely.

Well...I know I'm thinking really FAR IN ADVANCE HERE...but that's just the way I am!  I plan ahead all year long for the holidays so if you are thinking a

 then you would be right!  It's going to be fabulous and I may just have to keep it! :)
