~CREATING A GATHERING PLACE.....WHERE BLOGGER'S CREATE IV~

This month my Mr. APMan, my hubby of nearly 34 years and I celebrate twenty years of living in our La Chaumière de Briarwood. It is in the largest of her bedrooms, the very place where our beloved daughter, Adrienne, spent the majority of her childhood, that I work each and every day.

I feel the spirit of my girl in this room...that is why I chose it for my studio...  I was lost for a time when she grew up, married her own beloved, and left home.  I suppost it's why being in this room brings me peace.
Today, for the fourth year in a row, I welcome your visit!
It is here I create!

It is around her cottage white painted walls, lace trimmed curtains and soft pink accents I find I am most at home...  I love to create and most everything I do is made within this brightly lit space.  Every Pillow, Sachet, Christmas Stocking, Painted Pretty or handmade whatever is fashioned within these walls
There are days when I find myself working from sun-up until deep into the night...  This year I was BLESSED (and I mean BLESSED!!!!!) to have my home/work showcased in Europe's Casa Romantic Magazine!  What a JOY and HONOR that was!

God is so good to me...
I love working with my hands and wouldn't have dreamed my life to be any other way...
(my still half-painted picture!)

I love vintage laces...and I love sewing and hand painting  roses!

Oh...did I tell you I love hand painting roses?

Hmmm....I think I did!
 I love working with paper...
and glitter...
paint, baubles, bangles and beads, too!
I love making pin cushions out of vintage and antique baby shoes!
I have a true weakness for vintage ribbon.  I can't pass it up no matter how much I have!
Finding this old mail cubby early last spring helped transform my space!  Perfect for holding lots of laces and trims...I love it!
Another sweet old cubby that holds my favorite vintage ribbons.  It is here I work to transform perfume bottles into something special....

This vintage perfume bottle graced with vintage millinery blooms is one of my favorites!
Vintage satin ribbon made of rayon makes my heart sing.  I'm sooo stingy with it!

My A GATHERING PLACE SIGN now hangs in my booth space at Edmond Antiques (Edmond, OK).  So...this year I had to makeover the space above the chest!
My A GATHERING PLACE sign can be seen above (upper right)!  Aside from my website it is here I sell lots and lots and lots of the things created in my studio.
I'm still crazy about fabric...a small portion of my stash!  I'm continuing to whittle it down to a more manageable amount!
I will always be nutsooo about vintage hats with flowers!
Custom labels were a must for me from the very beginning!

I've owned this cabinet for years.  It's filled with paper goods for greeting cards and lots of things like glue, scissors, glitter, ribbon and lots of other sewing and crafting supplies.

I LOVE IT!
Vintage buttons are a must, too!  I've collected them for years!  I love the old vintage graphics and the quality of buttons can't be beat!
This small dresser holds every color of ribbon and trim you can imagine!
Neatly stacked clear boxes hold lots of vintage millinery blooms and some newer flowers as well.
Love working with rhinestones, old brass treasures and vintage jewelry!
Can never have enough bottles!  Yum!
This was one of my favorite things to paint this year!  Such fun!
It's fun to make pillows with matching cards or tags!

And there you have it!  My creative space for 2012.  Very similar to how it looked last year.  I'm loving it more than ever!

Thank you to Karen from My Desert Cottage for hosting our Where Blogger's Create IV party for this year!  I hope you'll pop over to her site and link up with all the peeps who've joined in for another year of fun!

Thank you to all my bloggie friends, followers, lurkers and commenters who never fail to encourage me to press on.  You ALL are the best and the brightest and most gifted artisans I've ever known.  I hope someday to meet more of you in person.

Lastly...a thank you to the husband of my youth, my beloved  Mr. AGPMan who is also known as Steven.  It's because of him my dreams have wings.  (I love you).

Thank you for visiting again this year!

DREAM IT!
LIVE IT!
BE IT!

Love to you all...

Hi Rebecca...What a glorious place to spend the day creating things of beauty! I can see why you are inspired in that wonderful room!

My Victorian room in my last house was like that for me. I loved it. Then we downsized and I got rid of a ton of stuff...but I still have a smaller Victorian room, and I do spend a lot of time in here.

Have a blessed week ahead my friend!

Thoroughly enjoyed viewing your WBC post and the photos. What wonderful artwork. You are so talented.

I also read your post about giving up Diet-Coke. Oh, I'm with you on this one. I love Diet Coke with my other junk food (hamburgers, potato chips, more). Anyway, I discovered the acid in the soda pop was causing anxiety-type symptoms so I thought I'd try going without. While ice tea isn't the same thing, it's a great substitute. Water is better but without lemon, and ice, it's not the same thing. That may be next.

Anyway, thank you for sharing your creative space with me.
