~A NEUTRAL COTTAGE WHITE HOME...and a NOEL PILLOW, TOO!~

About ten days ago I took an order to make six neutral NOEL Christmas Pillows.  One of my favorite long-time customers (and her three daughters and two daughters-in-love) love French Farmhouse Decorating and rid their home of all things pink.  I couldn't believe it!  Anyway, being the loving Momma that her girlies have come to know and love, she decided to gift them with small Christmas Pillows as an early December present.  (My kind of Mom!)

They are made with vintage oatmeal colored linen and include a reproduced vintage cabinet photo frame with NOEL in the center.  Simple vintage shell buttons accent one corner.  Instead of making six I made eight...six for my customer, one for MOI and one for my website!
My own personal style has been trending towards all things white for a long time now.   Too much color wears on me and I'm loving the soft, neutral tones that flow from room to room inside our La Chaumière de Briarwood.  I don't see myself changing the direction I'm headed in anytime soon either.  Love the whites that much!

For those of you who love pinks and all things rosy (which I still LOVE and am still making by the way),  don't fret.  PINK is alive and well for sure!  I just think it's taken a back-seat to the explosion of all things worn, tattered, well-lived, vintage...and white!

Today I'm returning to my doctor and es-kaw-pey-ing from my HOME after seven days of incarceration!!!  Can't wait to drive and to see skies of blue and to breathe in the freshness of the earth.

Pumpkin Days have arrived.  That makes me sooo happy!

Have a great day...

Love to you~

Hi Rebecca ~ These pillows are just as gorgeous as everything else you create! I think the whites and neutrals are so pretty, and I imagine a house done that way would be just so, so lovely. :) I've quietly visited your beautiful blog before, always in such awe of the goodies you make, whether stitched or painted...they're always so perfectly wonderful! I hope you're feeling better really soon. (pumpkin days make me sooo happy too!) xo Paulette

I am loving the white, neutral colors also, so calming and serene. So glad you are feeling better. Received my goodies in the mail yesterday and so LOVE them. Can't wait to decorate my pink tree. Your pillows are beautiful. Did you ever figure a price for the Gingerbread sign?

Beautiful, Rebecca! Love the button embellishments and the ruffles. I have pillows on my list of things to make for the Holiday Market I'm doing, but seem to be saving them for last. They take up so much room and I'm running out of floor space in the guest room where I'm storing everything!

LOVE those gorgeous pillows Rebecca... and what a sweet mama to order them for her girls!... glad you are able to get out and about today, such a beautiful time of year... I will always love my pinks, but they are pretty much in my crafts room now, where they look beautiful and soft and lovely... the rest of my home has always been the soft, muted colors of Nature which blend with just about everything... loving the neutrals as well... country colors I call them... xoxo Julie Marie

Good morning Sweet one,
Pretty pillows they are !! Love this fall time of year !!Hope your Dr. appt. goes well, and you get to be on the loose again !! hahaha ...
I do love pretty whites and creams, BUT, I'm STILL and ALWAYS will be a Pinky Pink kinda girl, and think ALL this white, farmhouse look is just a passing fad !! just sayin', I'm STILL a shabby-chic, true to the heart lovin' kinda girlie !! It's amazing to me all the trendy, everyone changes over to kind of stuff !! I guess I just don't have the time, energy and money to always keep changing ... It's FuN to see what everyone does !!
Thank God, my heart and mind doesn't change much !! Keep making pretty, and have a wonderful, happy, creative day my friend ~

I loooove those pillows! I am working on getting ready for a craft show this Friday (tomorrow...ack!) and I made my first, pink 'Merry Christmas' sign. I will try to post a picture of it on my blog before the craft show. Blessings!

Thank you so much for the input. I finished my sign and glittered it, partly because I do love glitter (I'm a big ol' moth! lol) and partly to hide a few issues which it did very well. Yes, I do lose some of the depth of the roses, but maybe my next sign will be more rustic and in neutral colors to see how ladies react to it. Thank you again! I appreciate your advice.

I too have been bringing in more whites into my home, but still keeping many pink touches too :) This pillow is just BEAUTIFUL Rebecca!

I saw the pillow and fell in love! I gravitate to neutral colors, too, I redid my family in them and it is such a peaceful, cozy place to relax. But pale pastels are predominate in my home and I don't care if the are "in" or not! :)

I hope you have a great day!

Jane

Dearest Rebecca,

Those pillows look lovely; can't blame you for keeping one yourself.
No matter what one loves for the home, as long as you create a nest and a cozy, warm feeling. There are no standards I think. Tonight I will launch my Rose Suite Bedroom...
Have a great evening, probably watching TV... like I will. Hope all is well after your doctor's visit. Hugs to you,
Mariette
