Happy Pink Saturday!  Thank you so much to Miss Beverly of HOW SWEET THE SOUND for hosting our Pinkalicious Party for us each and every week!  I'm so glad I get to participate again!  It's been a while and I've been missing you!

It seems I've had the busiest week ever, but truth be told...I love it!  I spent hours upon hours working in my studio and somehow I managed to not only finish painting the room, but the two HUGE-A-MONGUS closets as well!  My Mr. AGPMan installed new shelving for me and I've vowed to truly get organized...and I will...even if it kills me! :)

Anyway...I worked like a dog and even though I'm MORE THAN TIRED I know all the work will pay off during the busy holidays!  I barely breathe the last three months of the year and nevahhhh-evahhhh have time to do any re-do stuff.

Soooo...I'm a-doin'-it-now! :)

In the midst of the chaos I somehow managed to finish up some new PINK PRETTIES that will be offered soon on my A Gathering Place Website.  They've been MORE THAN FUN to create and I've loved tapping into the All-Things-French-and-Paris craze!

Since "I LOVE PARIS IN THE SPRINGTIME" (and in the Summer, Fall and Winter) I've continued working during my evening hours on some new greeting cards, tags and notes that showcase my affection for French Confection-ry.  I'm having so much fun and the possibilities are endless when working with vintage graphics!  If I'm not careful the wee morning hours can easily melt into my evening hours...it just doesn't feel like work!

Eeek!  I just love PhotoShop and Paint Shop Pro!  I'm soooo NOT a techno-girl so if I can master even a tiny bit of each of these programs it's not unusual to see me rock-out with a 'happy dance'.  :)

Last weekend while visiting with my hubby's family I had a chance to really sit down for a bit a talk with his aging Momma.  My Mother-in-Love is almost 82 now and is one of only two children still living in her immediate family.  And so...to fill in the gaps of a long weekend we chatted about those we love that have passed on and other family things including my hubster's ancestry.

Now...I suppose it's important to tell you that the wedding picture you see above has sat upon the same dresser-top in my hubby's childhood bedroom for as long as I can remember.  I think it was there the very first time I visited his home state and that was at least a year before we married...sometime in 1977.

What I learned about my Mr. AGPMan's Great-Grandmother was both interesting and heartbreaking.  She married young and had many children.  My hubby's grandmother, Helen Suzi, was born in 1908 and was the oldest of them all.  Ethel (Eddie) Simms died while still in her early 50's of what is now believed to have been breast cancer.  What is commonly understood is that she was denied medical care because her working hands were needed on the family farm...

Mother's Day 2010

I plan on taking one of the cropped images of Miss Ethel Eddie Simms and fashioning it into a sachet pillow for Steve's Momma for Christmas.  You may remember a similar pillow I made last year for my own Mother that included a reproduced antique photograph of her Daddy and her Grandmother...  Creating such things is surely my passion~

I'll be sure to share pictures of sachet later in the year!

Today I will be working in my studio all day long creating things like the two Sachet Pillows you see above.  I finished both of these late in the day Sunday and I'm soooo loving getting back to this intricate style of handwork.  I'm a bit BLIND at the moment from all the detail work and I'm thinking I need new glasses...or at least some stronger contacts!  (One of the things I don't like about growing older is losing MY YOUNG, STRONG EYES!)

You might remember a post I did from last year where I took an aging photograph of my grandfather and great-grandmother and incorporated it into a sachet pillow as a gift for my mother.  The more I thought about it the more I wanted to expand upon this sweet concept.  So...I've opted to take some of my very favorite vintage images and work them into some special Mother's Day offerings for my website.

Hope you had an awesome weekend.  I spent a great deal of mine painting out a bicycle planter my Mr. AGPMan bought me a couple of years ago.  I plan on showing you her transformation tomorrow...  I actually didn't really plan on giving her a makeover (she was Verdigris and lovely!), but since I was a fool and left her outside all winter she was looking a little worse for wear and so a repaint job was in order!!  More soon about this!

Despite the fact that Old Man Winter decided to make another visit to the state of Oklahoma (ERRR!),  I've actually had a good productive day.  Even though my hopes for hitting some amazing tag sales this weekend were dashed by a frosty Mid-March storm, I've rather enjoyed staying inside and not having to meander my way through icy streets and cold winds.  Besides...I got a WHOLE LOT done in my studio...Eeeeek!  Can't wait to show you.  The picture you see above is just a little bitty sneak-peek at a darling Sachet Pillow and a Card/Hang Tag combo coming your way via A Gathering Place...
