"LOVE IS..." and Other Things That Matter

"LOVE IS....
Sometimes Sharing the Chores"
(WHAT? HOW ABOUT ALL THE TIME!??)

It's Wednesday and time again for my weekly "LOVE IS..." POST. If you are new to following my Blog let me just quickly say that my hubby of many years use to snip out from his local newspaper these now aging cartoons and would then tuck them inside his love letters to me while we were dating. I've saved them all these years and on Wednesdays I bring them out to share with my readers! Trust me...they are as timely as ever!

OK...I'm going to make this short, sweet and to the POINT!

If you live in OUR HOUSE you are expected to HELP KEEP IT TIDY! Period!

Now~with that said let me just clarify a couple of things...

My guy is a worker bee...I've shared that with you a gazillion times. Like me, he is always on the go and with a kitchen remodel in the works he truthfully never stops. Add Spring and Summertime lawn care, normal upkeep of our home and general maintenance into the mix and you can imagine his slate is pretty full.

HOWEVER....

Even though I love to clean (I know! It's SICK) and keep things tidy on the inside, if I need help at any particular time my Mr. AGPMan knows how to pitch in! He certainly doesn't do things like I WOULD DO THEM, but~ he CAN push a mean vacuum and does a bang 'em up job with our SWIFER MOP! :)

(Thank-you, Baber!)

Blessings to you as you remember it's never too late to teach an old dog husband new tricks...Rebecca

Precious "Love Is..." post, Rebecca! Your husband sounds a lot like mine and we are very lucky women to have such support. I thank God every day for my life. Have a wonderful day, dear.

You've definitely got that one right, sweetpea. Ahhhhh, they never do them like we would do them, but then again I have a retired Marine who spit shines my bathroom fixtures....yes, spit shines the toilet tissue holder! Being retired he is always "under foot" but I'm learning to be kinder. He is also LEARNING to take his shoes off when coming into the house. It all evens out in the end though. I'm keeping him for the simple fact that he's the only man who could tolerate this chick! Hah.

Connie

G'Morning Rebecca!

I just LOVE this one! I have one of those hubbys too..I sometimes thinks he's more of a perfectionist than I am in this area. It sure helps ease the loads especially when my health issues rear their ugly head!

Hugs....Lorena

My husband never really helped with the cleaning for many, many years. But when I started all my treatments he surprised me with knowing how to keep a house. I guess from watching me all those years! I agree, some isn't like I would do it...but I will take all the help I can. It is so much easier now that it is just him and I.

Awwwwwwwww! Morning english muffin smothered with boysenberry jam & my hot cup of tea ... AND, my Rebecca 'lift' for the day.

I wouldn't let Harold clean anything in the house ... nope! I'll do it myself, TY. Go on, scoot! ... go do the cars, care for the yard, handle the house repairs, but DON'T clean the house. And yet, he is very good about offering if he thinks I need help. Bless his heart, he is a peach (they are in season, right!) ... chuckle!

Lift up, O Lord, my eyes this day,
to see your message & know your way. Fill my heart til it overflows, with love & joy ....

Hugs of love, sweet friend ~ TTFN ~ Marydon

Hi Rebecca,
I remember these from my childhood. My sister and I collected them...but ours were in Spanish."Amor es..." I'm not sure if she still has them. I'll have to check. What a wonderful memory...thank you.

Blessings,
♥Ana

Hi sweet Rebecca,
Love this clipping! My guy is good at pitching in as well and I truly do love him for it.
I've been in Boise for the past few days tending g-children while one was in the hosp. having tonsils out and I have missed a lot of your posts.I'm catching up today. I loved the previous post. Just knowing that my Lord cares for me and my small struggles makes my life so blessed. I know that I can go to Him and get the strength I need to carry my load. Thank you for the beautifully written post.
And thank you for the awesome tutorial. It was so generous of you.
Hugs,
June

It is so darn eerie how much those cartoons actually resmble you and Dad... haha!

You lucky lady! And he sends flowers! Does he ever cook? That would be the triple threat!

@Sares

Oh he can cook... but the only thing he does better than my Mom is breakfast food.

I miss the random Saturday mornings of waking up to my Dad making us from scratch pancakes, eggs, and bacon. If we were really lucky he made french toast!

Hi Rebecca, I must admit I'm a bit jealous at how romantic your husband was and still is....my hubby has a heart of gold but tends to lack in the romance dept....I count my blessings though...he's a great father and loves Sophia and me very much.

Thank you so much for the wonderful Anniversary wishes you left on my blog via Marilyn's blog but I'm glad you did because now I have discovered your great blog! I love it!

And your right everything should be shared and that does include chores. I love those cartoons, I haven't seen them much but they are darling.

Hi, Rebecca,
It sounds like your man stays pretty busy, but it is good that he will pitch in and help when needed. I always enjoy your "Love is . . ." posts. Have a blessed week. Come and visit with me when you have a chance. Vicki

It is such a blessing to have a husband who does his share and more if necessary. I don't think I have ever vacuumed our home...he loves to vacuum and I just don't think I should rob him of such a pleasure, right?

I never realized how much this small thing in a marriage would come to mean to me. My hubs is very good about doing the vacuuming as it is the most difficult chore for me to do. I appreciate it more than he probably knows though I do tell him often. One can never underestimate how much another does within a marriage. Good post R!
