~FALLING DOWN DOWN DOWN~

Not really sure how I did it...but earlier in the week my backside met up with the concrete walkway just outside of our local Tuesday Morning Store.  I don't remember much about the fall except that it knocked the wind out of me and I felt pretty sick to my stomach while trying to regain my senses...  I knew the fall was serious enough to where I couldn't get up on my own.  The shooting pain up my back was my first clue.

I must have been making some noise (I don't remember) because a precious lady named Kathy A stopped to help me.  She was able to get my Mr. AGP Man on my cell phone and my daughter as well.  Then, without me even asking, she put her hands upon me and prayed.

I will never forget her kindness.  She waited with me until Steve was able to get there (about 20 minutes) to take me to my doctor.  After a round of hip and back x-rays I found out nothing is broken, cracked or fractured.  Just a humongous bruise on my left side and more soreness and pain than I can ever remember having.

For the past two previous weeks my Miss K was with me so I had lots of things to do...errands, shopping, sprucing up of my booth and a house to clean.  So...I was excited about my day and planned to get a lot done only to have everything fall flat (pun intended) at only my second stop of the morning.

After a burning shot in my hip and some pretty heavy duty medication (which I hate taking) I slept only OK.  I feel like I've been in a car wreck or something even though I'm very grateful that my injuries were fairly minor.  Today I'm thanking God for his protection and for KATHY A for getting involved.  I've already hunted her down (thanks to my hubby remembering her last name) and plan to do something special for her as soon as I can.

Your prayers are appreciated.

Love to you...

Oh my goodness, Rebecca, that sounds so painful! You must have been really scared as well at first, not knowing whether you had broken something. I am so glad that it wasn't anything worse than a huge bruise and associated pain. Could have been a lot worse. And what an amazing lady, to have helped you like that. It is good to know there are still some wonderful people out there.

I am so glad that you aren't seriously hurt.

I have broken my tailbone three times and it is the worst pain. Thank God you didn't do that.

I hope you have a speedy recovery.

The exact same thing happened to me 4 years ago this coming August, sugar. It was the defining moment for the rest of my life. Since I'm about 20 years older than you, I suffered immeasurably and still "feel" it in my left hip. I think it's harder to heal the older we get, or I should say the more "vintage" we get because I'm a spry chick. I'm still suffering the effects of it and it will probably never be the same but that's fine. My grands and great grands love me just the same, AND the kids! Hope you recover better than I did. :-)

I am so, so sorry to hear this Rebecca. And I'm grateful you didn't break anything. What a wonderful angel Kathy A. was, it lifts my heart to know there are people in this world that will look out for us, even strangers.

Please take care and get a lot of rest. And I hope you are up and about soon, sweetie.

XO,
Jane

Becky, I am so sorry you are in pain, and I'm so grateful nothing was broken.

I know how you feel. I have had several falls over the last few years, but one of the worst falls was on a concrete sidewalk. It sounded like a hollow thud when I hit, and my friend who was with me was convinced I hit my head on a fence. Miraculously I got up and was okay, but I was sore for weeks. I am convinced that angels cushioned the fall, and I am betting that they did the same for you. Imagine how bruised they must be to catch us that way.

Feel better...

XO,

Sheila

Ouch! Don't you love it when God's angels are right there when you need them? Falls can have long lasting pains, so we need to ask for some deep healing. I can trip over a grain of sand--I did it so well that I chipped my elbow and had to wear a cast for 6 weeks. When the cast came off my OB/GYN doctor said I should have come to see him first so he wouldn't have had to see my black/blue arm-at the end of 6 weeks. Take good care of yourself and give your body time to heal. Prayers already on the way.♥♫

OUCH!! I am so glad that someone was there to help you. Luckily there are people who do care around and for her to wait around with you until hubby got there was fantastic on her part. I am so glad that you weren't seriously injured! Take it easy for a few days and let yourself heal.

Oh my goodness, Rebecca. Did you trip or just kind of "go"? That is kind of scary if you didn't trip or turn an ankle or something. I am glad you are okay and I hope you heal quickly and don't have too much pain. I will be praying for you- xo Diana

Just read about your fall. I have been through the same thing so I know the pain. Good that there was a Good Samaritan there to help you. You have lots of work ahead of you so hopefully this won't sideline you for long. Feel better soon.

Falls hurt so much worse the more mature in age we are. May you heal up well and be good as new quickly.

I missed this post. But read about how you are better in your last post. Wow, things can change in the blink of an eye. Nothing broken and a gentle reminder that our time is not our own. So happy you will heal and sure to be better soon. What a glimpse of a Christian woman for us all to see in the lady who stopped to help you.
