BROTHERLY LOVE...

My Mr. AGPMan

At exactly 6:00am yesterday morning my Mr. AGPMan backed one of our vehicles out of our driveway bound and determined to make it to a little town outside of Nashville before nightfall. Packed to the ceiling and spilling out onto the roof, our trusty SUV held most every wood-working and home renovation tool my guy has ever owned. If his state-of-the-art table saw would have fit inside, well, I'm quite sure he would have opted to take it, too.

The eleven hour journey to the beautiful state of Tennessee is a trip my guy is making solely out of love. He's not taking a vacation and no one asked him to come. He's not being paid. He's making the trip purely to bless a brother. Not a brother, brother, mind you. Not that kind. But the "hubby of your wife's sister" kind of brother. Yes, that kind.

No, this trip is not for pleasure. It was planned with a single goal in mind...meant to accomplish only one thing. It's purpose is to renovate my sister's home in hopes of making it completely wheelchair accessible for her husband. After suffering a stroke 8 weeks ago at the age of 51, her hubby, Greg, is finally able to come home.

As I watched my Mr.AGPMan pack his small suitcase with only work clothes, blue jeans and thick white socks, I couldn't help but conclude to myself how very kind his heart is. Quietly kind. He doesn't brag or boast, complain or even waste time trying to measure the worth of his hard working, talented hands. He just presents them, palms up, believing, trusting, God to do the rest...

"Be devoted to one another in brotherly love"
Romans 12:10 NIV

"Love suffers long and is kind"
1 Corinthians 13:4 NKJV

Blessings to you as you, too, present your gifted hands, and become a willing servant of the Most High...Rebecca

What a lovely tribute to a lovely man. I am sure your sis and bil love him for it as well. This kind of love is the best IMO, just the unselfish kind, no questions asked but given with love from the heart.

Rebecca,
How truly blessed you are (but I'm sure you know that). A kind and generous man is a treasure indeed. I know that many blessings will return to you and your beloved for the sacrifices you make and for the love you give to all of us who have come to know you.
May our loving Saviour's richest blessings come to you today---and always.

In Grace,
marie

Rebecca dear....you have always shared stories of the kindness and goodness of your MrAGP guy, so it is no surprise to me he is going to help Faith and her husband in their time of need...what a special husband you have, he shares
so much of himself with others...
I hope your brother-in-law will begin his recovery and healing when he comes home...it will help him to be HOME.......
and have your sister's TLC.
Prayers and hope to them, and blessing to your dear Steve, and to you, too, my friend...you have gathered many hearts along your paths.....
Love you, Francy

Oh, Rebecca, how moving a writing. I don't know where I got it that DH was already gone ...

This is such a wonderful loving caring unselfish gesture of love that you both are giving to your sister & bil. I know you've said you 'hate' (time will flit by quickly) being alone but it will fill your heart with such joy knowing you & your Mr. AGPMan's selflessness & loving hearts are once again giving to another that needs a helping hand.

It is such great news that Greg will be able to come home soon.

Today is a better day, because of you both ... I am offering up prayers at Mass this morning.

Please tell your DH that he is a very special man. Thank you.

Hugs of love, TTFN ~Marydon

Words cannot describe the kindness and generosity that is being bestowed. First of all I cannot even imagine an 11 hour drive. Your poor hubby will be so tired, physically anyway. His heart will be full though and you and your family will have the peace of mind knowing that there will be one less burden for this family.
Have a blessed week.

~My dear Rebecca~~What a beautiful post as I read about your very gifted husband, Steve today, in many ways. You had mentioned to me earlier that this was a plan of his. I couldn't help thinking how excited he must feel to get there and get started. It always makes one feel wonderful to do God's work (helping others) and how eager he must feel to help someone and bring happiness into their lives with something he knew expertly how to do. Bless his gifted hands and his sweet heart. I know it was with "heavy" heart to see your sweet husband depart for his mission, but know that God is calling him to do this. Thank you for sharing this and may the Lord bless you too as he is away.
Additionally, I am so happy to hear your bro-in-law is getting better. He will be happy to be home. With love and hugs to you and your family, Mary H.

I am constantly AMAZED at how wonderful my mother and father in law are...such inspiring people.

This post makes me think of the sermon we heard this morning, and the question the pastor asked - what would Jesus look like as a man? Well, I believe with all my heart and soul that I am so FORTUNATE to have a pretty good idea of what He would look like!! My father in law is an inspiration to me - and the love that you two share still brings a tear to my eye.

I also count myself among the LUCKIEST OF THE LUCKY to have a husband with such a wonderful role-model, because he truly does try to be just like his daddy!!

Love you the MOST!!
