~~~~FRENCH DOOR MAKEOVER CONTINUES~~~~ And the Hammering Goes On
~MR. AGPMAN WORKING LIKE A DAWG~
For those of you who've been following our breakfast room (and ultimately what will be a kitchen makeover) transformation I have a few new pictures for you today!  Just in case you missed what's going on you can see even more of what we've done HERE and HERE!  Now, if we had hired someone to do all the work for us no doubt it would ALL be done now!  But...when you are Do-It-Yourselfers like we are one must work around jobs and life and other things that come up! :)
 ~GOODBYE TO OUR ORIGINAL BACK DOOR~
Our original back door has been fully enclosed now and the sheet-rock is up.  Because the room has it's original hardwood paneling (it's actually that beautiful OLD STUFF that is now hard to find and big $$$) the pieces you see to the right and left of the door have to be removed and one matching piece will then be installed.  I'm always amazed at how much TIME all this tedious stuff seems to take. :(
I mean...I'm ready to rip out the old tile now...
(Just so you know...my Mr. AGMan does NOT think any of this stuff is TEDIOUS!!!)
~I'M LOVING IT~
~THIS LOOKED SCARY~
I was sooo happy when that old back door was removed, but honestly...this looked totally scary to me!!!
 ~NEEDING A TRIP TO THE BEAUTY PARLOR~
(Mollie is looking a bit shag-nasty here!)
Still, our only real problem was that our little Miss MollieGirl (that would be our 5lb Yorkie) became TOTALLY CONFUSED over how to tell us she needed to go outside.  For over a week she'd just sit in front of the 'black hole' wondering what to do next.  She FINALLY figured out to go to the new French Doors after about three days!
 ~READY FOR FINISH WORK~
I snapped this picture about a week ago.  The windows have now been trimmed out and the paneling around the old back door has been removed.  The next step will be the finishing of the wall with new baseboards, trim, paint, etc.
This is all slow-going but we are loving each and every step of our home's transformation!  Having the original back door closed up has changed the look of our entire family room.  I absolutely LOVE IT!
Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope your day is blessed!
Love to you...
Oh, how pretty this is all looking! And yes, I can see where you would have been slightly panicked at the gaping holes!! And poor Miss Mollie. Don't our sweet pets always panic when we change anything up out of the ordinary?!?!
Yea! Another new wall for you to decorate!!!
Hugs,
Stephanie
wow Rebecca, this is looking fabulous!! It's totally changed the entire look of your space. The light is wonderful! About floors, since these were here when we bought the house, I would have picked wide plank flooring. These are glossy and beautiful. But they've warped slightly with some water from the fridge. Do some homework with these. I know by now they have more and better options. I know you must be loving every bit of this transformation.
Rebecca- It is coming along so beautifully! I am loving it already and I know that you are anxious to be done. I know that you are like me in that you want everything in its place and I know how hard it is to live with imperfections (even if they are temporary). Your MrAGMan is amazing! You are a lucky gal- but then you already know that! xxoo Diana
That looks fantastic! There's nothing like more sunlight coming in. If you house is like mine, it has gotten darker as time passes and the trees grow.
Rebecca, it is looking absolutely wonderful. You guys have done such a good job. Doesn't it make you feel good to finish a tremendous task like this? We are working on our screened-in back porch and I just can't wait to finish it. We got the screen doors up tonight and Miss Bandi has learned to go through the doggy door tonight too. She was real reluctant, but finally mastered it!
It is looking fabuuulous!
Gosh, what would we do with oursleves if we didn't have our project? Just when I think I can't stand another project I go looking for one. I can't sit still for a minute. Well...yes I can. Actually I do have my crazy lazy days, but not often!
Hi Rebecca, your French doors are gorgeous, how exciting... my husband is wanting to have an out door kitchen built and we have been talking about putting French doors where we have a window in our family room so that we can walk through to the outdoor kitchen, I think I will love it but I'm kinda afraid.... what if I don't, got a lot to think about! Can't wait to see everything finished! Glad Mollie isn't confused anymore, poor baby!!!
Dearest Rebecca,
That is quite a difference already! The finishing touch always takes up lots of time, we know that by experience ourselves.
Lots of love,
Mariette
Oh Rebecca,your kitchen makeover is coming along so nicely. I just love your beautiful french doors...it just gives your breakfast room an entirely new look with so much more brightness coming into the room. How blessed you are to have such a talented and devoted husband to re-create everything for you! Sweet little Mollie...how our little "babies" don't much like change, but sooner or later they do adapt because they are so smart!
Love and Blessings for a beautiful day!
