~A GATHERING of SECOND THOUGHTS...and Prayers for Haiti~

~And Help Where You Can~

When people hurt, God cares. His love reaches into the lowest hell and it matters not if you live in America or your make your home in Haiti.

My heart is broken for the men, women and children of this suffering Island Nation. As I watched the news yesterday evening I couldn't help but bury my face into the shoulder of my Mr. AGPMan. All those hurting people...such devastation...such profound loss...and more is coming.

When my own life was at it's lowest, when I felt the weight of the world bearing down upon me... even during those fleeting moments when I feared all hope was gone...there has never been a day or a time when I've even come close to understanding what the people of Haiti are facing this very day.

Life as they have known it has changed forever.

While I carve out time to pray for Haiti I'm praying for direction for those of us who live in America as well. This includes me.

Blessings to you as you ask the Giver of Life what you can do and then do it...Rebecca

DEAR REBECCA,
I WEEP FOR THE PEOPLE OF HAITI AND WHAT THEY ARE GOING THROUGH. I PRAY FOR MIRACLES TO COME OUT OF THERE. THAT IS A LIVING HELL THEY ARE EXPERIENCING BUT YET SOME OF THEM COULD BE HEARD SINGING AND GIVING PRAISES TO THE LORD. CHRISTIANS HAVE DONE A LOT OF WORK THERE.
I WAS READING YOUR PAST POSTS. I LOVE YOUR HOT CHOCOLATE STORY AS TOLD BY THE PROFESSOR. I HAD NEVER HEARD THAT STORY BEFORE.
THANK YOU FOR THE BEAUTIFUL VALENTINE IMAGES. I LOVE LITTLE DUTCH GIRLS AND THEIR HATS...I THINK THEY ARE VERY SWEET. I HAVE A SET OF VERY OLD DUTCH BOY AND GIRL HANGING IN MY BATHROOM...I BOUGHT THEM AT AN ESTATE SELL ABOUT 8 YEARS AGO.
JUST WANTED TO DROP IN AND SAY YOU ARE LOVED AND APPRECIATED.

Rebecca, those poor people, they have had to contend with so much. I took an Embassy flight from GITMO to Haiti once and I was completely shocked at the proverty there. So many children on the streets because they could not attend school without a uniform, grown men with pants that were tied with string and part of the leg missing, some had no place to live so they slept and cooked on the sidewalk. It was the most pitiful place and now this. They not only need our prayers but so much more. Thank God for Red Cross (who needs donations now).

Amen. Sometimes the world is so heartbreaking... hard to understand why things happen.... As hard as it seems to do.. we must trust that God is in control...even when it doesn't seem like it.
Blessings and hugs to you.

Sweet Rebecca, I just love you so much! I've been praying day and night that the people in Haiti will feel the comforter and get relief from their suffering. Oh those little children in this disaster, it's almost more than one can bear.

Rebecca, I am so sad for these dear people and sending many prayers.

Thanks for asking about me. I am still in a time of 'deep reflection' but knowing God will make me stronger for everything I am going through. I'm a fairly tough little cookie but definitely cling to my Father's coat.

Love to you!

The devestation in our world, terror attacks, katrina's, crime etc.... some days it is very difficult for me to watch the news, open a paper or hear a story. I can only bow my head, cry for God and plead for strength to help where we are all capable. We can give little in the way of tangible goods but prayers can never be too many. The pain ... so overwhelming.

Love to you R!!
