~OH, I WANT TO KNOW YOU MORE...Spending Time In His Presence~

~DID YOU KNOW...?~

Of all the things I hunger for most for in my life my greatest passion is simply to know the Lord more. My thirst for Him is greater than all my earthly loves combined and there isn't a day that goes by when I don't long to spend time alone in His presence.

And so...I do.

Whether I'm sharing with Him one of my best days or seeking comfort in His grace, nothing satisfies my spirit more or brings a deeper peace to my troubled heart than Jesus.

Below are the words to one of my favorite Christian-Inspirational songs. It is the first song on my PLAYLIST below if you'd like to hear it for yourself~ Just turn up your sound...

~OH, I WANT TO KNOW YOU MORE~
Steve Green-Steve Fry

Just the time I feel
That I've been caught
In the mire of self.
Just the time I feel
My mind's been bought
By worldly wealth.
That's when the breeze begins
To blow I know,
The Spirit's Call.
And all my worldly wanderings
Just melt into His Love.

Oh, I want to know You more!
Deep within my soul I want to know You,
Oh, I want to know You.
To feel Your Heart and know Your Mind,
Looking in Your eyes stirs up within me,
Cries that says I want to know You
Oh, I want to know You more.
Oh, I want to know You more.

When my daily deeds
Ordinarily lose life and song,
My heart begins to bleed,
Sensitivity to Him is gone.
I've run the race
But set my own pace
And face a shattered soul
But the Gentle Arms of Jesus
Warm my hunger to be whole.

Oh, I want to know You more!
Deep within my soul I want to know You,
Oh, I want to know You.
To feel your heart and know your mind
Looking in your eyes stirs up within me,
Cries that say I want to know You
Oh I want to know You...

And I would give my final breathe
To know You in Your Death and Resurrection,
Oh, I want to know You more.
Oh, I want to know You more.
Oh, I want to know You more...

Blessings to you and peace...Rebecca

I love Steve Green. So many of his songs are so moving to daily life. I love this one too. One of my prayers is always that Christ will mold me to be the person He wants me to be. I so long to hear Him say, Well done, good and faithful servent.

This is a new song for me. The music and the words are so beautiful. The world would sure be a better place if everyone would seek to know HIM more.

I've said this before, but I must say it again. Sweet Rebecca, you are such an inspiration and a gift to everyone who knows you.

Thank you for spreading the love of Jesus!

Oh I LOVE that song. I remember singing it as a little girl in church and still love it to this day. I agree wholeheartedly with you ... the more I get to know Him, the more I fall even more in love with Him! What an amazing God we can call by name. The fact that He reaches out to us is breathtaking. Thank you for your beautiful post today. Love Janine

Beautiful post Rebecca, and I too love that song, one of the many praise and worship songs that I love to sing.
Whenever I am spending time with God alone, I always think of Beth Moore and a comment that she made at a Women's retreat that we went to where she goes outside on her patio, on her knees with her forehead to the concrete to be alone and talk with Him, and went to work one morning with concrete dust on her forehead. ;)
Love you and your beautiful posts.
Hugs ♥ Teresa

I've started my day in a lovely way- visiting your blog. I read the words to the first song. It't beautiful and peaceful and tender and I loved it. Thank you for a lift.
With the beginning of a new year, it's good to refine our focus on the Saviour.
So many people have been glad 2009 is over and if I wanted to, I could add my name to that list- we've been unemployed since April, 2 daughters moved further away from us, 1 daughter was diagnosed with melanoma and even though she was eventually pronounced clean from the cancer, her surgery site became infected and she's had 5 more surgeries. Fortunately I don't work, so I've been available to pack and unpack, and for several months I was at my daughter's house, cleaning and caring for her and her 2 sons, one she was pregnant with at the time of diagnosis. But that's life. We all have trials and troubles and when we look to the Lord, He will sustain us and make us stronger and bless us in ways we can't imagine.
For me, a 51 year old, to get up with a newborn nightly, or to keep 2 houses going, with all the emotions and stresses attached, is amazing, only through His grace.
I could wish that we hadn't had the hard year we had, but then I'd have to give up the blessings and strength gained.
I can't do that.
Your blog is beautiful- I'd like to visit again!
